7 Reasons The Pretty Reckless Are Going To Hell
Well, they’re not going to Hell just yet, because it’s not the sort of place you can just jump on a train to. And we don’t really want them to go to Hell anyway, because then we’d be deprived of their awesome hard-rock tunes. But the band’s killer new album is called Going To Hell, so that’s why we’ve suggested it. Simples, right? Anyway, here we go to Hell…
7. They LOVE Fire
What’s the first thing you picture when you imagine Hell? Fire, obviously. And that makes the perfect setting for a music video. Makes Me Wanna Die has got loads of that hot stuff in it. Plus, you can see Taylor Momsen looking quite evil at the camera every now and then. An added bonus, that.
6. They Trash Stuff
Read: they don’t know how to enjoy feasts properly, and spend more time throwing food around than eating it. In the band’s video for Miss Nothing, Taylor even smashes a glass over her poor bandmates’ head. We’re betting The Pretty Reckless didn’t get invited back to that place.
5. They Love Rock’n’Roll
Seen the video for My Medicine? It’s set in a huge party full of sex, drugs and alcohol. And tattoos. And Taylor Momsen is right in the thick of the action, which is extra badass. Kind of annoyed we weren’t invited, though. Next time, eh?
4. They Make Sinister Videos
Heaven Knows is one of The Pretty Reckless’ darkest videos yet, as children are fed subliminal messages through huge TV screens. There’s all sorts of brutal imagery in there, including a book titled Gods Fool being burned. Pretty gnarly, if you ask us...
3. They’ve Got A Legion Of Fans
Tay-Mom and co. supported Patrick Stump and his gang of Fall Out Boys on their huge arena tour last month. And playing in front of 10,000-odd people seemed like no big deal to the band, as the four-piece blasted through their sets with serious attitude. Basically, they’re going to Hell, via Wembley Arena.
2. And That Legion’s About To Get Bigger…
The last time The Pretty Reckless hit Download Festival, in 2011, it was absolutely pissing it down, but they still pulled one of the biggest crowds of the day. And this time, they’re sub-headlining the Second Stage – which is a huge honour. See you down the front?
1. Their New Album Is Called Going To Hell…
Duh. And it’s ace. We gave it 4K’s in K!1508 (not a score we distribute lightly), and it’s full of hard-rock gems like this. If The Pretty Reckless really are going to Hell, then we’d quite like to come along for the ride. That cool, guys?
