Blood Youth are premiering their new video, What I’m Running From, exclusively with Kerrang!
“This track is the first time I’ve openly written about my experience of moving to a different country on my own, just so I could get away from everything I was dealing with. What I’m Running From is about reaching that breaking point, it’s about stepping into the unknown,” says frontman Kaya Tarsus. “It was one of the most freeing and liberating things I’d ever done in my life, but for somebody that had never really left their hometown, it was also one of the scariest and most stressful experiences.”
“For the video we were really inspired by some of our favourite horror films, there’s lots of influences from The Blair Witch and Evil Dead in there. We wanted a video that was 100% story, something that could perfectly reflect all of these lyrics and emotions that you hear when you listen to the track. This is also the first video we shot with Henry Cox, he came back to us with so many great ideas and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted from a story based video. The entire shoot was done in one day, very close to where we grew up, my legs are still aching after 12 hours of running! “
What I’m Running From is the latest track to be lifted from their brilliant debut album, Beyond Repair, which is out now and available to buy from the following link.
