Green Day to appear on charity album

Hot on the heels of their Hurricane Katrina charity single 'The Saints Are Coming' with U2, Green Day have decided to put their own twist on John Lennon's classic 'Working Class Hero' to benefit an Amnesty International campaign to end the Darfur genocide.

The song will feature on the charity compilation 'Instant Karma', which will be released on June 11.

they played it on American Idol the other day.. it was alright.. but i would have liked to have seen them play one of their own songs.. working class hero is a bit to slow for my liking..

Working class hero is not so good i think (but it's not bad) I hope their new album will be better than working class hero. Something like American Idiot. It was wonderfull. Sooooo Gooooooood.

hmm...i like green day, but they have made thisn song too happy for what it is...marilyn manson did a much better cover...GD's is more like the manic's recent cover of the song...still not bad, but not the best cover imo. i'd rather hear john lennon's original than theirs anyday...and i am no fan of him or the beatles whatsoever.....

Working Class Hero is the best cover they ever have do .. I really like their version of that song, it's so , you know, it's so sad, and beautiful, and heavy-hearted .. and I love Billie Joes voice :) <3 I fucking love that song :D <3
