Mikey Way leaves MCR

My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way has left the New Jersey outfit to spend more time with his wife according to an official statement posted on the band's website by Mikey's older brother Gerard.

The statement, posted on April 19, reads as follows:

"Hey Guys,

"We like to keep all of you in the loop because although you are fans we see you as our friends...

"I'm very proud to announce my brother's recent marriage. Watching him grow up into a man and finding love makes me the happiest brother alive.

"In light of this joyous event, the band has decided to give he and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all of the things a newlywed couple should do.

"I know this is upsetting news, as it is for us, but we will continue to tour with a temporary replacement until he has situated himself in his new life.

"We thank all of your for your love and support, and know you are all as happy for him as we are.

"See you on the road, Gerard."

I'm happy for Mikey, but I think it is a shame the fans won't be able to see him with his brother and the rest of the band for a while - especially since they are still touring and have loads of festivals to play during the summer.
Hopefully he will be back before we know it!

I think that is was a bad descision for Mikey to leave MCR because even though he is married, he needs to carry on with his musical career..... But as long as he comes back to the band, and make MCR what it was like in the old times then I am happy :)

i get the feeling from just watching the vids that music is his life, so there is no way he would fully leave the band, and even if he did leave the band he would always have some input in what is done with the music.. its a good thing tht he has took time out now, cuz he can experience new things with his wife, n his experience may even lead to newer and greater songs than mcr have done before, all experiences bring inspiration soo when he ( hopefully) comes back there will be a whole new lease of life to him and a whole new aura to their song which will fill us as fans with as much joy as we feel now listening to their song..

if he dont wish to rejoin the band then that is his choice, i will miss him when i listen to them play but i'll get used to it and so must other fans

I got this in an email today..

Bassist Mikey Way will be leaving My Chemical Romance later on this year.
A press conference will be held in September after Project Revolution (which Mikey will not be playing) to announce the news.

Mikey will officially leave in December. His replacement has yet to be confirmed.

Um whoever put that bit bout Mikey leaving in December obviously hasn't read the latest edition of Kerrang! Read the bit from mcr and you will see them mentioning that he could be back soon etc. plus at their concert in Amsterdam Gerard said that they expected Mikey to be back after their next tour. Who sent you that e-mail anyways? Don't believe it unless it's from a reliable source like their official website.
I'm not getting mad at the person who wrote that I'm just saying that you should check their website, they would obviously have put anything as important as that on their website!!!

Look, I love reading articles on here about bands [I will agree with everyone, My Chem are mentioned alot-they're one of my favourite bands though so that's ok] but this is an example of a story blown hugely out of proportion.
The journalist who wrote this on here must be feeling really stupid right now since everyone knows that Mikey returned like a month ago.
