Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello will release his solo album 'One Man Revolution' as The Nightwatchman on April 23 through Epic.
The album, produced by Brendan O'Brien, features 13 politically motivated, folk-tinged songs about "bitterness and revenge".
"I've always written my heaviest rock riffs on the acoustic guitar," Morello tells 'Rolling Stone'. "It's really been the last five years or so that I've realised that I really love dark and heavy music, and I found that sometimes the darkest music can come from just an acoustic guitar and vocals. It doesn't need a Marshall stack."
Morello will play a Nightwatchman set prior to Rage Against The Machine's first show since 2000 at the Coachella festival in California on April 29. Morello tells Kerrang! that he'll be visiting Europe too.
"The Nightwatchman is going on tour extensively in the United States and Europe," says Morello. " In Europe, there will be a combination of festival shows and shows on my own. It'll be very fun. I'm very much looking forward to that."
Will his Rage bandmates accompany him overseas? Only time will tell. For more information, please visit www.nightwatchmanmusic.com.
