Enter Shikari headline the Day Of Rock!

On Wednesday August 8, London's Oxford Street will yet again be rumbling with the roars of 550 K! readers, as Virgin Megastore opens its doors for a one-off, intimate gig with some of the best new bands around.

This year's Day Of Rock will be headlined by laser-waving ravers Enter Shikari, with support from Fightstar, Northern Irish rockers The Answer, Welsh newcomers Kids In Glass Houses, with Finnish battle lords Turisas doing their best to kick off proceedings with a (bloody) bang.

On top of that, we will use the event as the opportunity to unveil this year's Kerrang! Awards nominees shortlist.

Great to see Turisas on the bill. I'm not too much into Enter Shikari, but it doesn't mean I need to mock them here. I'm sure there's plenty of people who will be there for them. I - however - would love to get tickets to see Turisas, who played an amazing show at Download this year.

I may not live anywhere near London or wherever the day of rock is happening but WHY are Enter Shikari fuckin Headlining this thing!? Last year was a much better lineup with proper heavy metal like Sikth and the mighty Arch Enemy and Fightstar who are alright. In fact why aren't Fightstar headlin this day? They weren't headlining last time, surely they deserve it more than ES.

Enter Shikari are merely riding a wave of hype. This generation (i.e. those from about 13-16/17) haven't seen anything similar before, and are embracing this 'radical' new concept of mixing synths with guitars. However to the older (more cynical) generations this has been a common custom amongst bands like Pitchshifter, The Berzeker, Pendelum and of course The Prodigy and Nine Inch Nails.

I still yet to get the email but i know you need to bring ID to prove who you are,, cos in sure they will have a list but as long as you have ID .... i know they said they might not hand you your tickets if you dont have ID..
