Good Charlotte's Joel to become a father

After weeks of tabloid speculation, it has been confirmed that Good Charlotte Joel Madden is to become a father.

His girlfriend, Nicole Richie - who will shortly have to serve four days in jail for driving under the influence of drugs - revealed that she is pregnant in an exclusive television interview with ABC News, which aired last week.

"Yes, I am," Richie tells journalist Diane Sawyer. "We are. I'm almost four months."

In other news, Madden will make a guest appearance on indie troubadour Ben Lee's forthcoming album, 'Ripe'. It will be released on October 1 through New West.

look if shes pregnant and she takes drugs i dont think the baby will survive and joel should no that i am happy fore them but i would be alot better if she didnt take drugs. good luck to them!!!!

I doubt she's been taking drugs when pregnant it takes many months to get convicted she prob got caught like last year.

Well, although they probably need to stick together more than ever at the moment serious questions should be asked as to whether she is actually a fit mother to look after the child when it is born, after all will she do this again? Good luck to them, but this is hardly ideal...

its aweful to say the baby's gonna die because of the way she behaves... i know people who took drugs when pregnant and theres nothin wrong with their kids except they were ill when newborn and i've known people who respected their unborns and the babies died... yeah they should be more responsible, if they weren't in the public eye like us lot, the social sevices wolud be knocking on the door as soon as the kids been born

I'm happy for Joel but i'm not too sure Nicole is right for him! she's a fucking bad influence!! the drugs are gonna affect the baby and Joel must know that, so he must really love Nicole to actually be with her.

Congratuations to the both of them. Maybe he is a bad influence on her, but as long as they're happy together, she can do what she likes.
She probably wouldn't be a great mother, a very bad influence with the weight, but hopefully she'll feel healthier after the baby with the weight she'll gain from that.
