Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger is working on a classical symphony comprising of three 40-minute sections.
The idea formed after Einziger was left without his guitar for months because of surgery to relieve his debilitating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
"I couldn't play guitar for a few months," Einziger tells 'Billboard'. "So I just started studying music again. I started working on [the symphony] and I learned very quickly that there were a lot of gaps in my musical knowledge."
Einziger says he will continue to work on the piece throughout Incubus' current tour of North America promoting their 2006 release, 'Light Grenades'.
