everyone has to get over the whole "i hate emos" and learn what an emo is, and emo isnt someone who says their emo, and has bright coloured hair and wears a MCR or HTH tee.

its someone who is much more EMOtional than you average person, and this country the most common social set of people are "chavs" as they be called, and i like to think most of the people within the rock/metal/hardcore/punk scene are much more emotional and passionate than the stereotypical set of chavs we have in this country.

So i think its high time people start evaluating the whole situation before they slander something they know very little about.

The Black Parade is not an emo album.
The style of music is more like Green Day and even Queen.
Their lyrics are still a bit along the lines of what is now considered 'emo'
but Gerard is right.....they do get lumped in with loads of bands who are similar only in their hairstyle...
which is what emo is becoming, an image rather than a genre of music.

jimmy eat world? real emo? just a few years out of date mate. look back to bands such as embrace (the 80's, ian mackaye fronted one, not the 90's indie crap) and rites of srping. they were the first emo bands. and to some extent bands like jawbreaker, husker du and lifetime, who all had that hardcore edge. bands like mcr have so little to do with the original old school of emocore, its an insult to include them in it, and to lable the tennybopper scensters under the same name.
