Fall Out Boy to pen pop album

Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump has revealed that the Chicago pop-rockers have an album's worth of material written but won't be hitting the studio any time soon.

"It's probably going to be a pop record," says Stump. "We're experimenting with piano, too."

That can't be allowed. Lots of people out there hate Fallout Boy anyway, making a pop record won't exactly help them will it. Now they are to busy to appeal to the chavs and neds and dont care about their real fans. I hope thats nopt true, but it sure seems like it.

Stop freakin out, it's Fall Out Boy, they play guitar, bass and drums. How many pop bands actually PLAY instruments?
If they come out in white suits with horrible choreography, THEN I'll worry.

I don't see what the problem is- the last record was pop! And I don't get this stigma attached with 'Pop' anyway. It just means more catchy songs. Which is what they do nowadays.

Besides, they'll probably do a 'rediscovering where we came from' record after that anyway.

fall out boy are as pop as "rock" gets. i dont know why people are whining about it, ther'e already pop. stop making it out as if there some great rock band cos you dont' want to be associated with anything pop. go listen to some real rock bands like metallica or iron maiden.

just cos may be doing a pop album doesnt mean you should stop liking them. I'd buy it if they did i'd buy it....everyones gotta try something new in their lif and it looked like they picked now
but dont stop liking them...it could be a one off
and i dont think the last album was pop..it was their music style
im still gonna support them all the way if they do bring it out =]

They better not do a pop album. Some people say that they're already pop but that's not true. They have their own style, and to make a pop album would be following the mainstrain crap out there and loosing the individuality they have now.

Again I don't think theres much to worry about, even if it is pop-ish with Patrick's voice it'll have a unique edge.
Anyway, whoever said ALL pop was that shitty, catchy comercial stuff on the radio, ever heard of TaTu? Pop with a sense of darkness, and two pretty beautifull women with amazing voices.

Fall Out Boy are a good band but I hate to break it to ya, they're not rock. They're a fucking pop-punk band anyway so what differince is it going to make?! Pop-Punk is still just pop!

if they want to experiment with their sound they are musicians and have the right to do so! they are still so young and are alos maturing along with their music. change is not neccesarily bad and should be expected with young artists and their TRUE fans will be by f.o.b's side.

And for the hundreth time, they did not sell out, they just got popular - and may I ask, is that not the AIM of being in the Music Industry? So really, they're just doing their job.
