Deftones pen new album

Isn't this the type of thing any band says in the midst of writing a new album? I am always looking forward to new Deftones material though.

White Pony is still my favourite Deftones album by a mile.

It's a shame Chino isn't half as good live as he was back in 1998.

It always pleases me to hear that a great band is working on a new album. But I agree with Iwan - Deftones were at their best around 1998. But Chino is Chino, no matter what. Besides, they're getting older. I mean, what can you expect?

Isn't it disturbing to see hundreds of comments on non-news on MCR or FOB, but only 2 on a band that really matters?

Isn't it also disturbing that the difference between comments on a "band that really matters" and FOB or MCR in terms of grammar and spelling are very different. The majority of FOB or MCR comments being written in "short text" (monkey with a pen) and the comments on Deftones being correct English grammar.

Maybe the band with hundreds of comments (MCR) matters more than a band that was washed up come 2002.

My Chemical Romance are better than Deftones could ever be. And that's a 22 year old male telling you that.

I agree that MCR are a good band, i question if they are as good as Deftones but that is another story.

The reason i quoted "band that really matters" is that i didn't agree that MCR are worthless.

I personally think it is all a matter of opinion and I only meant my comment in a way to see what kind of people buy and read Kerrang. I personally think that MCR is one of the worst things that could happen to rock music ever. Comaparing these bands is a bit weird because the music of both bands is completely different.

Even in its genre I think MCR is a joke, but lets not get into my full-on rant on MCR because I am in place full of MCR lovers, because I am on a Kerrang forum board. For me it would make as much sense as shouting Slayer at a Backstreet Boys forum.

The day MCR comes up with just ONE song that is better than any song on one of the first three Deftones album is yet to come.. Oh wait, will never ever come, because there is not enough quality in that boy-loving circus act.

See, now I still said it.. I'm my own worst enemy hahaha.

My Chemical romance have had 3 successful albums and many many many good songs, that indeed have made an impact on my life. And you're saying that MCR are not a band that matters? They are not a joke and the music they write always has meaning... and they're always straight with it. They've gone mainstream... so what? More people like them. Maybe people that use 'slang' like them... is there a problem with that. Im sorry, im just a bit disappointed that you would complain about stupid things like that. think about things before you say them. Thank you.

I never said anything about slang or the way kids express themselves to form their opinion about a band. I think it's great that MCR means so much to you. I just gave my opinion about the band and its quality in my eyes. Never about a meaning or about spelling from fans.

I just came to the realisation that Kerrang is read by a group of people that has nothing to do with the music that matters to me. It's a very mainstream magazine with very young readers that are easily sucked in by following a trend, very often set by Kerrang them selves. I think that in 9 out of 10 cases the bands that are so liked and praised on this forum are only so big because of the complete hype that Kerrang forms about them and that is a shame for many many bands that deserve to be heard by this audience.

Already happened. All three of MCR's albums are better than Deftones material. I'm not saying I dislike Deftones and I do like a few Deftones songs but I just see MCR as a better band in terms of how they sound,

i totally disagree with the commenter 2 abuv me- i dislike- enter shikari, dir en grey marilyn manson , and many other bands, and the only reason i actually read Kerrang cz they hav my fave bands in it like- MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, MADINA LAKE, LINKIN PARK, AND LOSPRPHETS..... ETC. so its got nuffin to do with the fact they giv these bands alot of hype (even tho they deserve it!!) but more to do with the bands music. so yeah- i dont jump on the band wagon like you suggest!!!!!!!

As an MCR fan I believe some of our fans bring shame on us. I do like them better than deftones though. That's not an insult to them btw.

Even though mcr are talented musos they are more entertainers than actual musicians. The reason i listen to music is because it is a creative art form and mcr sounds more like a soundtrack for the GO WITH THE FLOW CIRCUS thats invading our earth,than a piece of art brilliance(WHITE PONY!)

i like all the bands mentioned personally, however, i must say that deftones are easily my favourite but whats the point argueing over which is best because frankly thats how everyone starts hating one another in the first place so why divide ourselves even more???

How can you compare bands from two completely different genre's?

All I see is a bunch of ass-hats comparing apples and oranges...

Both bands are great in their respective crowd.....

No one that can sit here and say that MCR is better then Deftones is full of it. Are you out of your minds there is more talent in one of Chino's fingers then MCR has in there whole band. Deftones is one of the greatest bands of all time I'm not sayin that I don't like MCR but talentwise Deftones have got them beat by a long shot.
