Silverstein were doing an acoustic set and signing and they dedicated a song to their dear friend Casey Calvert from Hawthorne Heights who passed away.
I looked at my friend and she looked at me and we both knew that this was a sad day for the world.
The loss of a great man. Who was a brilliant guitarist may i add.

Casey was actually someone who I knew through my photography and he was one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I insist of having a piture taken with the whole band oafter a shoot and he went backstage and rounded up all of the band and brought them back out for my last photo. Whether you hate emo or love it Hawthrone Heights are stand up guys who never admit to making the most inventive music in the world, but everyone has respect for them because of what nice guys they are. This thread should not be about people giving shout out's to their favourite bands seeing how the artists have better things to do then go onto a Kerrang meesage board. It shouldn't be about people making fun, if you don't have respect for emo or the people who play it then have some respect for human life andymark, the guy didn't kill himself it was a horrible tragedy and his family will never be the same again, can you imagine being that guy's parents and being called at like 3pm in the afternoon to be told that your son has died through no one's fault but his own illness, there's no one like a drunk driver to pass blame on. Weren't really into Hawthorne's sound but he was a BRILLIANT guitarist.

Actually honestly never listened to HH but this is a tragic thing to happen to anyones family and friends famous or not it is very unfortunate that what should have been a page, celebrating the life of someone who didnt deserve to die so young turned into a platform for certain people to excercise their ignorance and thats all i will say on that but back to the real reason i feel for his family and friends for their loss and i also feel for the entire music industry for losing someone who obviusly touched so many people with his guitar playing that so many people are affected by it.
