Metallica to unveil new single?

According to an interview with an MTV executive, Metallica are set to debut a new track from their forthcoming album on the new Rock Band video game.

Senior vice president of home entertainment, Paul DeGooyer, told Rocky Mountain News, "They've [Metallica] reserved the right to give us their first single from their new album for the game."

Metallica's next studio album is tentatively due April 2008.

Fuck you buddy, Chili Peppers deserve everything they got, they cant put a foot wrong, every album is literally amazing.
As for Metallica, i think they are overrated now. If you look at thier whole career, they are one of the greatest bands ever. But they are still selling out stadiums, 15-20 years after they released anything good.;
They daren't make another album like st anger, cos it'll piss so many people off, so the only choice they got left is to try and recreate thier 80s sound, which, as it isnt the 80s anymore, will just be a caricature of what they were...

theoretically this album should be old school like kill,lightning,puppets and justice. they got rid of bob rock, they dont have a stupid twatty therapist bugging em all day, same goes for a friggin camera crew...so heres hoping. also WTF APRIL!?!?!?!?!?!? first it was october, then it was february now freakin april dude?!?!?!?!

seems like a lot of bitching going on about the mighty metallica. the older lot who grew up with em remember how heavy they were. hopefully the fire is still in em. lets face it if they can put out something like st anger with some solos and not mixed by someone with hearing problems then maybe everyone will shut the fuck up. oh yeah and fuck napster get your hands in yer pockets freeloaders. cant beat going to the record shop on release day for that nice shiny cd.

If metallica really want to know what they should be aiming for with the new album they shud listen to Machinehead's latest offering. Best album I've heard this year. Heavy as fuck!!!! Saw them in dublin couple of weeks ago. One of the best gigs i was ever at. No cigarette lighters in the air I tell ya.. They blew metallica off the stage in wembly too. Old skool metal at its best.

this may be awesome, like SOME of metallica's recent material, but than again it may suck ass, like SOME of metallica's recent material. Chilli peppers are overrated. KoRn arent. BFMV were never metalcore. A7X will still be churning out metal anthems in 20 years (before you start his throat is fine, he just changed his style, whenever i say the word a7x people start bitching about that).

Being now 36 years old i have seen Mettallica like iron Maide,Anthrax, Wasp,And Many More bandsa raise from fame to fortune and on down the road back to basics to really get a grip of what thease bands are about see them live thats why may age group bought their albums the where shit hot live then andwill still be now who cares if the sell millions of albums!!!!!! We can only hope, that metallica sticks to the promise of "returning to their old school roots". But they have said that with every album after Justice. And well, the music wasn't that bad, in fact Black album was very well put together, but thats what I fucking hate about it. Bring back the old shitty clumsy thrash riffs and fuck your St. Anger Experimental album bullshit off!

okay well truly there are limited number of TRUE metallica fans in here like myself and actually oguz.

st.anger wasnt meant to please us musically...even though it did me and i thought it was raw! dont get that nowadays. it was meant really to release out the anger inside the band, the tension, mostly from james and lars haha if you actually watched the documentary if you call yourself a metallica fan.

so i have hope for this new album. should interesting. you have to respect the music, not just have a catchy song here and there. listen to the guitar, the bass and the drums. metallica are true gods on their instruments so they will not fail in pleasing us metallica fans. i agree i like their stuff from black album and back BUT the music after wasnt poor either. it was good just not orgasmic like MOP or black album.

if you like metallica and are a fan get behind them, if your not then i really dont know why you are commenting on a news bulletin about metallica if your not a fan?!

Seems like olly was the only one who got the idea. St. Anger wasn't meant for us. It was to start over with a new bassist play some angry shit. This album is supposed to be somewhere in between Justice and the black album. Shouldn't be too bad, I'll probably buy it the first day out.

i dont like the whole metallica st anger sucks and shit , I know some people might not like the way they changed and is not realy metallica , but the album (St anger) is great , it dosent sound like metallica but it still rules

I heard the new album is due for a September release, and that was from Metallica.com, I do believe.

I don't listen to Metllica's newer music, probably because the old stuff is fucking great and I can't get enough of it. I've been thinking of buying Load, Reload, SandM and St. Anger though just to reach my own verdict on what they're like. I'm going to get the new album definatley, because I reckon it's going to be good...
