Gerard hearts Britney Spears

It's that time of year where we here at the mighty K! ask the world's top rock stars why their year rocked. My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way told us his highlight of the year was when troubled pop star Britney Spears shaved her head.

"A lot of people might say that Britney Spears is the biggest idiot of the year, but she is kind of my hero too!" Way told Kerrang! "I think that her shaving her head was awesome, that was one of my highlights of the year! I thought she looked great, and I totally got it."

"I have had a lot of moments where I can identify with her," continues Way. "Sometimes you just wanna shave your head and be covered in your own shit, running through the streets, being crazy. You wanna be fucking locked up!"

Britney shaving her head was a cool moment - it showed the world what can happen to a massive pop star, who has the world at her feet, with screaming fans and can do no wrong (even in the eyes of the press) one minute; but then, through a series of bad decisions, become a total 'freak', the butt of everyones jokes and can do no right! It was, I think, her attempt to shed all that baggage and start anew, (or a cry for help) but, according to the press reports about her, it does not seem to have worked.

i read this earlier actually i thought it was kinda sweet
gee is amazin hes like the nicest guy ever hes down to earth and friendly and hes so cool mcr have been my favourite band for a year and i wish id heard of them earlier. i know i sound like an obsessed fan or something but hes amazing. the whole band are really. i love all their albums though i do hope they go back to their original roots. they have inspired me in so many ways and i guess they've 'saved my life'
somehow i don't think gerard and britney are in love. besides he has Lyn-Z and in the article he says that she perfect and exactly who and what he wanted. i think its so sweet. im so happy he found love.

sorry i know this is spozed 2 b bwt the article n evrythin but i jus wnted 2 say tht music can and does save lives and i'm nearly 17 and not afraid to say MCR and Gerard Way were responsible for saving mine. this isn't a sob story but i lost my dad 2 years ago and tbh that is the worst thing that i've ever had to go through...i don't believe in self-harm etc but when shit like that happens u change your mind. anyway i just wanted to give an example of how they save lives, and tbh it doesn't matter how old these fans are if they feel someones saved their life they have a right to show support and express their appreciation without being slandered!

Not everyone in the fucking world is EMO. Especially my chemical romance fans. If you don't like the band fair enoughbut if you don't leave us alone, its our choice if we like this band and it definately doesn't make us emo. the band isn't even emo, go on youtube find out for yourselves. So I'm just gonna say
- Mcr is emo, Mcr is not emo. Different people think different things. Don't complain when someone says there are, or arn't emo.

-Gerard Way is a ledgend to some people, and others dislike him. I for one LOVE him. But, no one cares about Gerard Way haters hate towards him. You're just sad if you're gonna comment crap about him.

- Britney Spears. I love her. Maybe not her music, but... she may have messed her life uop yeah. but c'mon. The press and that,printing pictures of her without pants, yeah... emabarassing her like that's gonna help, and then they tell her to get herself together.

- Eek, this comment WAS long.

I don't get you people who just slag him off without thinking twice. He was asked a question in an interview and because he has a right to an opinion, you think you have the right to say it doesn't matter. I understand you have an opinion too, but because he's standing up there, expressing himself, he gets a load of abuse! All i can say its you're bullies and you need to get over yourselves.
