Phil Anselmo - new band!

Phil Anselmo - the former frontman of Pantera, and current Down lead vocalist - has started a new band.

The group - also featuring Mike IX Williams (EyeHateGod, Outlaw Order), III (Assjack, Superjoint Ritual), and Collin Yeo - is called Arson Anthem.

Their debut EP will be out in February 2008 through Anselmo's own label Housecore Records.

Don't quite know what to make of this. Anything Phil does musically is usually good, but I'm a huge Down fan... so I hope that this doesn't affect them in anyway. But all power to the new band and I look forward to hearing their stuff.

God if Phil becomes involved with/starts any new bands he's going turn into Mike Patton - lol and he's been in more projects than I've had hot dinners! Haha

But then again, as the person before me said, any band associated with Anselmo is usually more than well worth listening to since he Rawks!

This is a message for the person who says mcr are better than anything out there. Do you even know what music is? Mcr are not as bad as people make out but there are still miles beind bands like Down who are kings metal and one day you might grow up with your music taste and realise that.

And as for saying that MCR are better than pantera....... no. Just no. I'm guessing you're about 15, so once you grow up and start listening to real music you'll laugh at how much of a retard you were when you were young and naive. People still care about pantera 17 years after CFH was realeased. If people still care about that faggot Gerrard Way in 17 years i'll eat my shoes

This article is about Phil. He is not working with/playing with/living with/disrespecting/insulting/praising/mentioning/thinking about mcr.

Congratulations, some of you (specifically 'Yeah But..') have found a favourite band and you think they are the greatest, most powerful music you will ever hear and that they truly 'get' you. Great.

How's about this for a giggle though. Let's talk about mcr when it's relevant to what's going on?? Please?? I don't know one of these discussions, regardless of starting topic, where SOMEONE doesn't feel the need to remind everyone else of mcr's supremacy. WE. GET. IT.

I felt that about the bands i first heard and guess what?? One day, you will grow up. I promise....

Oh god, I've read this entire string and then realised that MCR stands for My Chemical Romance. Hahahahahahaha. The dude who thinks they rock must be 7 years old. Word of advice, don't go dissing bands that were kicking a*s when you were stil f*cking dipers, if even that.
