Keith Baxter's bandmates pay tribute

3 Colours Red guitarist/vocalist Chris McCormack and Therapy? have paid tribute to their former bandmate, drummer Keith Baxter, who passed away on January 4 aged 36.

"Keith was special, he was talented on so many levels," says McCormack. "We played, toured and traveled the world together since we were teenagers and shared some amazing highs. I still can't get my head around the fact that I'm never going to see him again or watch him beat the shit out of his drums... it's just so sad."

Baxter, who was one of the founding members of folk metallers Skyclad, shot to fame with 3CR in the ‘90s and also drummed for Therapy? in 2002. His sudden death shocked and saddened the band.

"Keith was an intelligent and humble man whose wide-eyed sense of excitement was infectious," say the band in a posting on their official website www.therapyquestionmark.co.uk. "He will be missed by many and will always have a special place in our hearts."

He is survived by his partner Rachel and twin brother Garry and brothers Kev and Neil. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.

This is fucking disgraceful.
The readers of Kerrang...all to willing to moan at each other about pete wentz's dick, and then you come and read about a good band, and nobody even knows who on earth it is...

Kerrang, sort your shit out and cover some decent bands more often and educate your 13 year old fan base on some decent music like the wildhearts and Therapy?.

I am totally devastated by the sad news. One of the best drummers I've seen live, which also happens to be the drummer of one of my fave bands, 3CR, passed away :(

All the love to his family and friends, I have the urge to spin "Pure" one more time, this time it will be for you Keith.

RIP

Just can't believe it.

3CR have been the soundtrack to my life...Pure is the greatest album I own.
The greatest British music of the 90's.

So sad to hear about Keiths death... he was simply an amazing drummer.

I knew Keith from school and his family, all the time I knew him he played with dedication and passion, never missing a beat.

One of the best drummers I ever knew and ever heard, let hope he's still flinging them sticks.

God Bless his family and may he REST IN PEACE

I was at Keith's funeral yesterday.

I was in a band with Keith for a couple of years before he joined Skyclad. He was a top mate, and a great laugh - we had a LOT of mad times together... Keith, Dave, Kev, Trev, (the other band members) and myself.

Anyway the point is it was great to see such a big turn out - it was a very sad day.

My heart goes out to Keith (I know you're watching mate) and to Gary, Rachel, Kev, Neil, and all his other friends and family.

One of Keith's 'famous' comments was "there's nothing worse than brown sauce on your fingers". I can finally say I have found something worse - someone dying so young.

I am shocked to hear about Keith. Keith was a Great friend and was my apprentice when he left school, at streamline garages on king street in Lancaster. He valued my opinion and asked me when he had the chance to tour with a band. What he should do as he wanted to become a mechanic but love drumming. I told him you only live once and don’t know what’s round the corner how true was that. I remember going to the Blue rhapsody in Morecambe and watching him. He also gave me a demo tape and asked me what I thought. I truly think he wouldn’t have gone on tour if I hadn’t had convinced him. I didn’t know but was thinking about him so put his name into Google. I can tell you to say I was shocked would be the understatement of all time. He was one of a kind. Love you mate.
