the subways are fucking indie

download used to be a haven for metallers

why r u turning it into a pussy fest

sort it out and announce some good bands
machine head, lamb of god, devildriver etc

So sell your tickets on ebay? I'll buy 'em :)

Posted by Cheese | March 3, 2008 9:16 PM | Reply to this

Maybe this years line up is a bit shit compared to last years but to be honest it the line up so far is murderous!

Most of the bands announced are old ones trying to make a come-back, does anyone else agree?

Yes, Download is suppost to be a metal fest but maybe, just maybe, K! have finally realised there are more than just metallers read their mag so therefore are trying to please everyone with atleast one band they like....
I know someones bound to have a right go at me for posting this but pfttt... everyones entitled to there opinion, arent they?!

Bullet for Download though would be proper good :)

I actually cannot wait, I mean yes the line up is weaker than other years, but ynkow,

I want Sevenfold anyway! xx

Posted by Joelio | March 3, 2008 10:19 PM | Reply to this

i got my tickets...now lets just hope the line up improves...some brilliant bands there but whats with the headliners...and lostprophets closing.serioulsy the guy who decided that should be shot...

fingers crossed for Atreyu,

Posted by Kurdt | March 3, 2008 10:30 PM | Reply to this

This will be my first download... Couldn't get the time off work last year...

There are a few bands I want to see there so far, a few more I'd love to see though... But I'm not going to sit at download, complaining that the line up is shit when I can be actually enjoying myself and making a weekend of it... Not spent my £150 for nothing!!!

Either way, gimme avenged sevenfold, slipknot, maybe try and pursuade slayer to do 2 years running... Highly unlikely, but that would make it an even better weekend...

Posted by Haushinka | March 3, 2008 10:31 PM | Reply to this

You guys need to lighten up!!!

I see over a hundred gigs a year...practically every rock/metal band you can think of I've seen in their prime.

To this day, Kid Rock at Brixton Academy in 2001 is the BEST DAMN GIG I have EVER seen in my life!!

I for one cannot wait...his stage show is amazing - strippers and pole dancers on either side, tons of pyros and he PLAYS every f'n instrument in his Twisted Brown Trucker Band.

The only reason I am going to Download now is to see him play. Just check out his live vids on YouTube and you'll see how awesome he is live!

He WILL blow everyone away...just give him a bloody chance!!!

And check out his new album - its one the best you'll hear all year...

Posted by Vik | March 4, 2008 1:24 AM | Reply to this

Are kerrang ever looking at the comments we're leaving?

I dont fucking think so,
Cuz they're not catching on.

Such a shit line up.

Posted by Aidan | March 4, 2008 7:25 AM | Reply to this

Nah mate.
You blates dont go and see any half good mental bands if you think Kid Rock? gave the best show.

Parkway drive, as i lay dying, stick to your guns, four year strong.

Fuck, think befor you speak ladd

Posted by aidan | March 4, 2008 7:27 AM | Reply to this

First of all, its not that bad (although The Subways are utter shite)

Second of all - there's about 73 more bands to be announced. So chill!

As for Throwdown, Kid Rock, BDM - GET IN!!!

Posted by Peter | March 4, 2008 9:01 AM | Reply to this

So far I actually think the lineup is awesome!
Seriously...
I've seen Job for a Cowboy and The Black Dahlia Murder, they kick ass.
Incubus, Disturbed, Kid Rock, Inflames, The Offspring, Judas Priest, Kiss, Motorhead, Children of Bodom, AlterBridge and 36 Crazyfists all kick ass.
There's only a few crappy bands on this year so far.
I mean I wanna see Jonathon Davis...but I don't think he'll be as good without Korn.
Lost Prophets will be crap because they wont play their old stuff.
Chris Cornell was better in Audioslave, but still good.
Jimmy Eat Worlds old stuff is better, so they will probably suck.
The Subways suck anyway.
And the other two...Throwdown and Bleeding Through are good.
Why is everyone complaining so much?!

Posted by Leanne | March 4, 2008 10:16 AM | Reply to this

Hey Aidan,

Thanks for your comment. But just so you know - KERRANG! DOESN'T PICK A SINGLE BAND ON THE DOWNLOAD BILL. That's Live Nation, the promoter's job. We're a magazine, we report news, interview bands, review gigs and albums, BUT we have never, ever selected a band for Download.

Posted by KERRANG! | March 4, 2008 11:49 AM | Reply to this

wow they do! haha
um if ur reading this comment then act please!

i speak on behalf of everyone by saying get fukin bfmv on the bill they are amazing the best metal band around at the mo

and yes i no u dnt pick bands but suely u could have a nice word with live nation get somegood bands playing or im selling my tickets!!!

chhers Kerrang if you do read this if not well i hope you like hate mail lol

This line up is getting worse by the week! I'm so glad I've got tickets for Wacken this year.

Kid Rock... why??? I've always thought his stuff was crap at the best of times.

As for BFMV, they're good but they're not the best metal band around at the moment!!

Posted by Jane | March 4, 2008 1:57 PM | Reply to this

all you bitches need to stop fucking moaning Download applys to everyone in the ROCK world u dont like it fuck off to the indefest that is reading and all u people saying £160 pound is too expensive for the 2 bands u wanna see Do you honestly think metallica n ratm warrent a full reading ticket nah so shut the fuck up

I got tickets for Rock AM Ring instead. I got flights and ticket for cheaper than Download. UK fans get ripped off big time! Plus you get Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, The Prodigy and so much more that Download lacks.

I used to love Download but this year is appalling!

This is Download, England the birth place of Heavy FUCKING Metal NOT the latest showcase of floppy fringed fools from the US of A whining about not getting the girl etc etc!

I'll admit I like Lostprophets a lot but I don't QUITE think they've earned the right to headline, and that a lot of the bands are indeed American but we need more popular renowned METAL bands! I think I speak for all of us in wishing that bands such as Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and more are invited back here!

i thought it couldn't get any worse with lostprophets getting a headline slot, but now Kid Rocks going, there seems to be only 3 bands dragging me to this years download, and i don't even think their worth the ticket price. i am waiting for slipknot to be announced and then the ticket will be purchased.

Posted by baker2d | March 5, 2008 12:11 AM | Reply to this

This years download seems good to me, not as good as last years i agree, but come on Kiss, Offspring, Motorhead, Alter Bridge, Kid Rock and Judas Preist.
There all fucking legends and had to be there.
Kid rock is a excellent performer and everyone should give him a break. (awsome hair)

Posted by Brett German | March 5, 2008 3:33 PM | Reply to this

LOL!

look at all you whiney crybaby bitches.

kid rock is a better live performer than most bands on the line up.

i'm sure kerrang will give him 2 or 3 K's for his performance but watch how well his band is recieved by the crowd overall.
