Wentzy gets engaged

Can you hear that? That's the sound of a squillion emo girls' hearts breaking because Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has finally popped the question to girlfriend Ashlee Simpson.

"He got down on one knee and she said yes," a family friend teld US magazine In Touch. "She has an amazing ring, and they are so in love."

Wentz and Simpson confirmed the news on Simpson's MySpace blog.

"We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us."

K! sends our congratulations to the happy couple.

Congratulations Pete Wentz on your engagement. Now I'm not a fan of Fall Out Boy but i certainly dont hate Pete Wentz because of it, like alot of people do nowadays, mainly because i don't feel the need to hate for no reason. Have you heard the Madina Lake song, "True Love"? It will convince you that they are rock as well. There is a line between rock and pop but it has nothing to do with who a rock star is dating, marrying or who produces their album. Fall Out Boy have a rock sound, so do Madina Lake, therefore are a rock band. Don't be an idiot, why are you bringing people like Madonna into it? They're nothing to do with it. Nirvana did a cover of a David Bowie song that was originally performed by LULU, does that make Nirvana any less rock?

HONESTLY!!! Why do people make a big deal just because a magazine (and an awesome one at that) put in a little bit of info about some band members private lives, that those members have wished to share with their fans?? So leave the poor guy alone! He isn't full of himself at all! If you don't like him or her, why make a big deal about the fact they are getting married? Seriously Pete deserves to be happy, as much as the next person. Yeah you don't like FOB's music, no need to insult them or just him on his own.

Firstly, congrats to them on their engagement. I expect they'll have a good wedding and a nice long life with each other. I've never liked Ashlee's music, no, but that doesn't make me hate her. I don't know her, so I can't exactly judge her.

I've never seen Pete as attractive either, because he's really not my type, but you can see they're just made for each other and deserve happiness.

I just hope that the media don't pry too much into their private lives and invade their privacy. Everyone deserves a quite life and I don;t wish them to have camera crews and interviewers in their faces all the time. Especially if they end up having a kid.

This means more publicity for both the musicians. I hope they enjoy every aspect of it. Xxx
