Yellocard to split?

Florida pop punkers Yellowcard are to go their separate ways after their current US acoustic tour wraps-up on May 10 in Indianapolis.

"We are calling it an 'Indefinite Hiatus'," said frontman Ryan Key in an interview with The University Of Tampa newspaper. "It could be a year, 10 years, or 6 months. It's been an interesting time in this business and [with] our record label. It's just... We kind of need a break.

"I think it appears everything is ok on its surface but we definitely need a little bit of time to figure out our personal lives," added the singer. "It doesn't have anything to do with turmoil in the band... I think we just need a break. Hopefully we will get back to making another record sometime, if not it may be our last but we don't really know. We're just keeping the door open."

They have been one of my favourite bands since 2002. It's a shame to see them go but I will always be hoping for them to reunite and record another album or atleast do another UK tour.

I heard this a while ago... but I haven't gotten over it. I LOVE them.... I would hate that.

Whats even worse is that Kerrang forgot the w in yellowcard in the title....

I heard this a while back, and it's sad but they've got lives aswell, they need a well deserved break!

im actually genuinely gutted, yellowcard are an amazing band!
i havent had the chance to see them live so the thought that it might never happen is really sickening.

i hope its not for good.
and also, kerrang spelt yellowcard wrong.

Why ? One of the decent remaining good bands we still had , first Blink now Yellowcard . Music in General is gauranteed to go even further down the shit pan and get a whole lot worse I can't tell you enough how much I despise of all the indie shite like the hoosiers , Scouting for girls ,One Republic , The Thrills , Amy Winehouse and all that bollocks that is infesting the radio . it's much worse when you go into a shop or restaurant I tell you what I hate it so fucking much that I don't take off my headphones while out in public I don't want to listen to their watered down hip hop , tedious dance or depressing Indie shit If I appear ignorant Fuck em all they gotta do is change the Fucking music

I like yellowcard...didn't think they'd been together for that long but I might be wrong. Meh, not that bothered by the split but it is a shame, their music was quite good (:
