Slipknot: Number One after a recount

As we reported on Kerrang! dot com yesterday, Slipknot were pipped to the Number One spot in the US Billboard charts by rapper The Game by a mere 13 copies.

The band's latest album, All Hope Is Gone, shifted 238,272 copies in the first week of sale compared to The Game's LAX sold 238, 285.

However the 'Knot made US chart history last night after SoundScan, the official chart monitoring company, were forced to do a recount. And low and behold the Iowa metallers have actually sold 1,134 MORE copies than The Game, with the final recount figures coming in at 239,516 for All Hope Is Gone and 238,382 for LAX.

Well its a good result to see metal up the top but.....they've had months of touring and promotion for its release so it's not that surprising....also if it was a re-count, how many other artists have made top spot unfairly, and more to the point why can't these people at soundscan count??

PS Good to see the americans are managing to recount something at least, unlike elections!

I'm sorry, but some guy talking in ryhmes to a digitalized track of beats someone else put together, to me, isn't music... just pathetic. Slipknot deserve top spot, hands down. I just got that new CD a couple days ago, and I'm not disappointed. Still Slipknot feeling, may have more soft vocals but come on... who didn't expect that after Vol:3? Just go into it with an open mind... IT'S STILL SLIPKNOT FOR FUCKS SAKE.

Thats what I'm talking about! You'd be crazy not to say that Slipknot arn't the best ing band ever. They kick mega ass. If I could I'd give those 9 boys a pat on the back.

Also, has anyone else noticed, Sid broke his ankles about a month ago, then Joey broke his about a week ago, maybe Paul is gonna break his ankles soon, then Chris, then James, and so on, and so on.....
