The Rasmus unveil new album

The Rasmus will release their long-awaited new album, Black Roses, at the end of this month.

The 12-track effort, produced by Desmond Child and Harry Sommerda, is very reminiscent of the band's 2004 break-through album Dead Letters.

The track listing is as follows:

5 Your Forgiveness

8 Lost And Lonely

10 Dangerous Kind

Black Roses will hit stores on September 29.

I was beginning to think Kerrang that you had forgotten about the existence of The Rasmus...i do have to say though that the album with its track listing etc has been unveiled for weeks!!!

I was never a fan of The Rasmus, but i can say they are a guilty pleasure of mine, i like a few of their songs so it should be interesting to see what they have on this record.

Wow, I was something like 14-years-old when I last time said I liked The Rasmus. Nowadays people get laughed if they say: "I love The Rasmus!" That's who life goes in homeland of The Rasmus. Welcome to Finland! Tell to heavymetal listener that you like The Rasmus and they make sure that your face looks very pretty and purple next day :) maybe I dramatized little but I hope someone got my point...

I'm just hoping that this album can chance something. Someones attitude.

But I'm too hopefull.

A statement was released a little while ago i believe saying that the track with Anette Olzen on has been removed from the finally track listing for the album but i think that it may be released at a later date

Fantastic!! Finally some news about them.....I just hope they get given a chance in the UK. All the shit they got was a long time ago.....

I cant wait for the new album. I was at the Launch party in Helsinki and the album sounds fantastic - I just can't wait to get my mitts on it now lol

And a note to Rasmus fans...buy the album with the documentary on it...its brilliant!!!

I'm a fan of The Rasmus. Their old stuff, at least. I've heard previews of the new songs off some Czech website which will sell the CD and frankly? I'm not impressed. I love this band and they've been a massive part of my life but the last album was crap and this one looks to be heading the same way.

the rasmus are a brillient band..and nobody should slag them off..i never do about bands i dont like..and we have so much rubbish in this coutry,that it takes a band from finland to show the british what music is all about..i have all the albums..i dont go much for the earlier stuff, but since in the shadows, everything they have brought out has been amazing..it just takes the uk..along time to realise talent such as the rasmus..but othere countrys are not so backwards as us...long live the rasmus..they will be still be going strong long after other bands are forgotton...

The fact that no-one knew the Rasmus had albums before Dead Letters was down to the promotion and record company themselves. The Rasmus has been established across Europe for a while.

Im looking forward to this album, which is actually a follow up to Hide From The Sun, since that was the last album.

And Kerrang, get some new photos, the one you have associated with this article is from 2004. YET AGAIN Down to the management... tut tut!!

This album is sounding great already!!

And now i like them again.

I completely agree, it serves no purpose if you decide to act like a cunt towards other people just because they don't like the music you do. I like The Rasmus, and if someone doesn't like them, THAT'S FINE!! I'm not gonna go on a rant and bitch at them for not thinking the same way I do! Whatever happened to having your own opinions on things? Is it now a crime to be an individual? It's exactly that kind of elitist attitude that so many now possess that makes people afraid to be proud of who they are!

found out about the album then Kerrang! lol. Anyway from the 30 second clips I've heard, this is going to be one of their best albums to date!

I like how it didn't take long for the one hit wonder comment to creep up lol. Yeah they are but they're fucking amazing in a lot of people's eyes incl. mine!

I've been in love with this band since 2004 and if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have even started buying Kerrang magazine. I hardly ever bother anymore because all they do is slag off good bands like The Rasmus. I also have all their albums, with favourites from each one and even the ones I really didn't like from HTFS have grown on me. Just this weekend, a guy at Tesco clearly wasn't impressed when I said I liked them, smug when he said they came off bleeding from Reading. Give the poor guys a chance! They've worked really hard to get where they are- 13 years! Go see them live, that, if anything will change your mind. Lauri, I love you!

Nice album. Cant say that the rasmus is my favorite bands, but I enjoy several of their songs. Lucifer's Angel was the first song I heard by them and I got curious and started looking at their older albums. The first 3 were a wierd Punk/Funk/Rapcore style but After they got a new drummer the changed to a more contemporary sound. The Duet with Anette was awesome. I would still have to say the song Funky Jam from the Peep Album is my fav :) Great Job on your (not so new) Album.
