I got 2 tickets standing at Manchester- but it was hard work, website crashed, phonelines jammed. You could only buy 2 tickets from the website and phoneline but I went past the ticketmaster office and there were a whole "stink" of touts- who looked mor likely to buy kanye west tickets, coming out with 20 + tickets each, it's farcical- I think they're in cahoots with the cashiers! It was 4 tickets per person in france/germany, and you can only buy 2 tickets per household per tour. wtf!

AC/DC OPEN AIR EVENTS official

German ticket company eventim which I bought 2 tickets for there tour has announced . AC/DC will be playing OPEN AIR events in the summer after selling out in 12 mins. So I would guess it could be Rock im Park / Rock am Ring which both events for this sold out quick last year without bands being mentioned . So is this a Stadium Open air Tour for the Summer coming to ? - I do think so.

I've tried so many different ways to get tickets to see AC/DC. I can understand people selling thier tickets on, BUT those sites that sell them on for a completley perverse, outrages and selfish price should go where the banks have been going of late...DOWN THE PAN!

please, please add more dates!

Got 2 seated (M.E.N) via Ticketmaster at about 10:10, just kept refreshing the page until the general sale option came up above the presale option - no chance on standing though - & not even for me - Little Sis better
be grateful!

Well, this would've been my first and probably will be my last chance to see them live, been waiting a long time (a good few years) after many discussions with mates of mine that as soon as they announced a tour we'd go. Oh well, as per usual no one can get a fucking smell in...as someone here had already said "WHY BOTHER?". It's all about how much money can be made (ROBBED) in the quickest time possible these days, genuine fans who wait a long time for their fave bands always lose out to the twats who buy loads of tickets, then bang 'em on eBay minutes later, and then bleed someone else dry for even more extortionate prices. Personally I would not buy any tickets from eBay whoever it is, as much as I like a band, I do have more sense than money. Anyone that managed to get tickets at the standard face value price, well done to you, you did well there, I hope you enjoy it. As for anyone else paying hundreds of pounds you need your heads examining, but to the ones that are charging those prices, YOU'RE ALL FUCKIN' ROBBIN' WANKERS! The only way this could be rectified is if the band announce several more dates, either a few extra nights at each of the venues, or by adding some new dates/venues but I doubt it'll happen. Thanks for nothing anyway.

OK I've done some thing stupid - used my dad's credit card to book tix for one gig, while he also did the same for another - through seetickets - i rung up and they said if is two per person per tour ... Would they really check this and cancel our tickets??

Last tour I found it easy to get tickets, ACDC have done nothing for 8 years and now it mass hysteria, It does not make sense, SJM have caused this hysteria you can never get tickets for SJM concerts and surely if they cared for teh fans they could introduce a different way of obtaining and distributing tickets, why not use your credit card to gain admission and just receive a confirmation, this would spell teh end for scum touts, but I guess companies like SJm would prefer touts to be left with tickets on their hands rather than the real fans getting tickets.

I manged to get 8 tickets in total, well happy. You won't be seeing my tickets on ebay, i'd rather give them away to people i know who are desperate to go. Ebay & making a the buck says it all for todays society.

I tried for ages on the phone and Ticketmaster, with no joy. Then i switched to the Ticket Factory, and got tickets no problem at all.
although only being able to buy two is a pain. My husband managed to get 2 as well, but the family will be sitting 3 blocks apart!

I've loved AC/DC since their early days, I had to pay stupid money for a single ticket for 14th @ O2 which is the day after my birthday which I'll now have to celebrate on my own.

There were so many of us that wanted to go - no chance and Im the only one that paid cos Im so into the band. Im so disappointed already, and my birthday which EVERY YEAR goes bad is ruined YET AGAIN 6 months before it even gets here, made worse by finding all the tickets I couldn't get on Ebay for extortionate money.

I joined the fan club & requested a code for fan club tickets, Which I recieved by e-mail, However ticket master just keeps saying no match, I have read my e-mail over & over & still think it strongly suggests the tickets are reserved (or maybe this is wishful thinking) Below is a bit of the e-mail;

This presale is valid from October 17, 2008 to October 24, 2008 to purchase up to 2 tickets for the following event.2009-04-23 NEC Birmingham, To purchase your presale tickets using the above code go to:https://tickets.acdc.com/venue.php?show_id=3127Thursday, 23/04/09LG Arena BirminghamBirmingham, GB

Theres no telephone number for acdc.com & ticketmaster were as helpful as a fleece in a heatwave. I spent the whole day from 9;30am till nearly midnight last night trying to get some tickets for my dad who has been a diehard fan since I was in nappys, But I still dont know wether or not this code = tickets, My Dad is really getting his hopes up & if he wont be able to attend the tour i`d sooner tell him now rather than later. A few years back I bought some tickets for Robbie that I made £200 profit on, at the time I thought it was fantastic, But now i`ve witnessed the distress to fans who just want to be there with no agenda I hang my head in shame, If I could access the details of the people who bought my tickets off ebay, I would refund there hard earned cash. So sad when people are getting into debt to support there idols whilst the touts keep profiting from there desperation. Personally I think it`s impossible for tickets to sell out that quickly when there is a 2 ticket limit in place, But then I also think the big sites that flog them on at a ridiculous mark up are probably allocated the majority of tickets in exchange for a back hander anyway before us mere mortals even get a look in.
If anyone can offer any advise at all about this or has managed to get in touch with anyone with a brain cell, It would be very very much appreciated.
Thanks
nikki x
ps; when i log into addc.com & select my account then my tickets it says;

Message for all the touts, CHEATS AND LIARS NEVER PROSPER. Get a fuckin job to earn money instead of trying to be clever and ripping other folk off by playing on their passions and desperation. Leeches like you are what make the world a constantly crappier place. You will find out eventually that obtaining money by these and other scheming methods will stain your personality and character. Sleep well.

I was on ticketbastard at 10am yesterday too, i searched every venue and couldnt get one single ticket available. I have been going to gigs for 13 years & have never known anything like this. Its a scam. For the prices the touts are charging now i wouldnt even pay that to see AC/DC in their prime with Bon Scott. A true disgrace. This should be investigated, it absolutely sinks.

I have never felt the need to, or previously understood people's desire to contribute to any sort of blog in the past but this has recent carry on has got me more wound up than Iwelumo's sitter last week.
Angus & Malcolm were born in Glasgow, Bon was born in Kirriemuir, why are there no Scottish dates?
I am lucky in that have already had the pleasure of seeing AC/DC several times in the past but as many of the previous threads mention, it was never a hassle getting tickets, in the good old days it was either sorted out over the phone or by sending a cheque and self addressed envelope through the post and I never missed out. (Younger readers check Wikipedia regarding cheques and SAE) Now, in the era of global communication I can't get near a ticket unless I am prepared to pay a minimum of 4 times the face value.
I know AC/DC in the UK at least have never gone in for the big Bon Jovi/U2 style stadium gigs and have tended to play arenas, and the last time I saw them was in Aberdeen on the Ballbreaker tour and it is not a big venue but maybe this time they have underestimated the demand. and the chances are this will be the last time (Rock'nRoll dream?).
Surely better to have a lesser view in a stadium than not see them at all.
Instead of these ticket websites having a question to verify whether you can see their coded message correctly why can't they ask you who the original bass player was (Mark Evans) or something that shows you actually know the band history and that you care about the music and are not just trying to make a quick buck.
I never thought I would see AC/DC lumped in with the prawn sandwich brigade but from what I have seen on websites it's the same, the real fans are being screwed by people who couldn't give a toss wheher they are selling tickets for AC/DC or ABC!
On principal, I refused to pay 40USD to join the fan club as I thought that owning every single album they have ever released, initially on vinyl and now again on CD, numerous DVD's and T-shirts that the money I had ploughed in in the past would have some bearing but obviously not.
AC/DC have always been a band that prided itself on not going down the corporate route, singles, ballads, charity songs, cover versions etc, they have had plenty of opportunities to give in to corporate greed, why would they f*ck it up now.
There are a raft of festivals all through Europe this summer and without either AC/DC, Metallica or Van Halen they will struggle. At least if they will be playing festivals at a later date then they have an obligation to et the fans know and they can save their money and buy the later tickets instead of lining somebody else's pockets. The band don't make money from touts.
One last thing before I get off my soapbox, 1984 Castle Donington - AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore, Motley Crue - GBP17.50 (I still have the ticket) No ticketmaster, no seatwave, no getmein,as Diamond Dave said "where have all the good time gone?'

Seriously, what the fuck is going on. Believe me, I knew that there would be a massive demand for ACDC tickets, but not this insane, to the point where they're all practically sold out within 5 minutes. Ah well, at least the money grabbing bastards on eBay got some before the websites would let in to tell me theres none fucking left!!
I just checked (6.30pm 18/10/08), there are a 475 results for ACDC uk tickets, more than double yesturday. This also included 'unionman25', someone who is selling two (thats right, two, not 10) tickets for the Dublin show for, wait for it...£500!!!
Seriously, wasn't there a law passed a while ago where you couldn't sell tickets on ebay? Where eBay would ban sellers doing that?
It just really upsets me that the websites froze up and the phones were all ingaged preventing a devoted fan from getting to go, when greedy snakes like 'unionman25' can get there first and sell them for ridiculas prices.
I really hope ACDC release a 3rd date, I know its unlikely but at least I'll have one more chance to get tickets.

Why don't UK ticket sellers/promoters do as they have in the US, I am assuming that this works. Once you have bought tickets you can only gain enterance on producing the credit card and photo ID for the gig. Does this stop the touts over there?

I haven't missed a tour since 85(ish) also seen other of the projects the members have done over the years! This p!sses me off no end and think the band/promoters/record company need to do something about this.

It kinda pisses me off no end you see great bands come to the UK and suddenly the WANKER SQUADRON fly in swoop the tickets then FLOG THEM FOR STUPID FXXCKING MONEY!
I remember long hours of queing for tickets at box offices yeah it may have sucked but at least the fans got the tickets! Go and see AC/DC go see Matallica hey ticket price £45.00 but hey I'll charge you say £400.00 -£500.00 or let's go to ebay get sucked into bidding the ass end out of your savings and shit some bastard still outbids you. Me I'm truly well and truly fucking hacked out with ticket touts depriving the fans of going to see there bands hmm next one I meet I think is going to be in for a real surprise! I don't condone the use of violence but in the case of ticket touts I'll make a real exception as no one seems to care that once again Joe Schmo on the street is the one who ends up missing out!

Jesus, your going to spew at this. I had a bit of a sleepless night before tickets were released and pretty much resigned myself to not going as no one I knew would be on the internet at 10am. Anyway, I thought fuck it, i'll try the phoneline and keep hammering my redial button. After heaps of 'Line Busy' on the mobile phone at work, at 1016 - I got through.
I was shaking so much on the automated service I thought i'd fuck the button pressing up, so I had to act as if it were a hoax and be casual as.
24 hours later, it did'nt help either as my bank reckoned the transaction still had'nt been processed, so I thought it was all too good to be true and pretty much wrote the whole thing off. That is until I rung Ticketmaster tonight.
The lady on the phone gave me the formalities and now I sit here stunned before you. I guess I just got plain lucky. 4 Tickets. Damn.

oh yeay. Standing too.

altho the 2 ticket only policy is a step to prevent touts block booking , they just go in person and pay in cash . there really needs to be some pressure brought on this . sure , some of its opportunists , but theres got to be an organised crimnal element too . how often do we see local police intimidating fans on way out of venues whilst ignoring touts and bootleggers ?

it also sucks for families who want to go together , by time you've got second card seats next to them may have gone ... it's great they tried but sucks ass there was gaping flaw in the plan exploited quickly .
