Travis Barker: "I will never fly again"

Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker was released from hospital in Augusta, Georgia yesterday where he'd been receiving treatment for burns sustained during a plane crash in South Carolina on September 20.

The crash killed the plane's two pilots, plus two other passengers and also severely injured Barker's DJ friend Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein.

Barker is currently travelling back home to Los Angeles with ex-wife Shanna Moakler in a tour bus provided by his +44 band mate Mark Hoppus.

According to a source close to Barker, he has said that he'll never get on a plane again.

I used to drum in a pop-punk band with my mates around 8 years ago, and despite my shift onto heavier tastes in music, Travis Barker was and remains an undeniable influence and inspiration as a drummer. This is a terrible thing to happen to such an exceptional talent.

And can ya really blame him?

Its not exactly a major thing not getting on a plane again, if thats the case are you calling people with a fear of heights 'tits'?

And i wouldn't wanna get back on a plane if i'd been through what he has.

Can't say I blame him. I hate flying, although I won't let it get in the way of what I want to do.

I just make sure I get thoroughly pissed before getting on any flight. Somehow the idea of hitting the ground at 600mph doesn't seem so bad when your loaded up on vodka.

No it isn't.
Anyone who survived 9/11 would be more likely to be afraid of being in a plane or poorly constructed skyscraper you fool.
And fear of flying is hardly out of the ordinary these days so I don't blame him for how he feels.

Gosh I feel so sorry for Travis,Im just glad he wasn't amongst those four that died if he died I wouldn't know what to do he's just amazing,He just rocks basically.

No it isn't.
They'd be more afraid of going on planes or working in poorly constructed skyscrapers.

And besides, it's not as if people with a fear of flying aren't common these days, so I'm hardly surprised at how he feels.

Wouldn't you be scared shitless if something bad happened on a plane you were flying on?

Id deff not go on a plane after that!!! Im very happy Travis is better, it was deff upset when I found out about the horrific incident. But i agree with Anna, wat are ya gonna do when your gonna travel around the world to perform? taking a boat isnt gonna help at all. but im just glad he's out sooner than i expected, well i did know probably earlier when the doctor treating him said nothing physical wasnt affected so he would be out earlier, other than the burns would take a year to fully recover. You're in our thoughts Travis and Dj Am!!!

Travis has always had a fear of planes! i remember seeing videos of him saying that he would leave 3 days earlier to drive to NY or the west just to avoid going on planes.

I really don't blame him for not going on a plane again, its completely understandable.

and why have people changed this into a petty argument?

So glad travis survived, i was so shocked when i heard the news i cried. I owe Travis my life, he was my inspiration to keep living as these past two years have been shite.
