Chris Cornell denies Led Zeppelin frontman rumours

Former Soundgarden and Audioslave vocalist Chris Cornell has denied rumours he is to front Led Zeppelin on their forthcoming world tour.

Since news broke of original frontman Robert Plant’s reluctance to commit to the band, Cornell has been mooted to front the reformed rockers along with Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, ex-Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar, White Stripes’ Jack White and Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy.

“I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumour or it might be true.”

Meanwhile, Cornell will release his third solo album, Scream, in January.

Surely though they idea of a comeback tour that you would do it with all the original members that aren't basically dead. So Plant not wanting to do it...the voice of led zep...would bring all plans of a world tour to a stop...

i think cornell would be an ideal fill in for planty!no one is saying hes better than planty but obviously they would need a good singer and it may just be my thought but chris would definatly do ALL the songs justice!its well documented that cornell is a major fan and that zep are a definate influence on alot of cornells earlier stuff(and soundgarden)so my own personal thoughts are that chris wouldnt be doing it for the money but of being a genuine fan of led zepplin and would put his heart and soul and feeling into the songs and with that what else could u possibly ask for!all you doubters out there are obviously killjoys and if you think chris would be shit at it why dont you all vote for robbie williams to do it cause you are obviously deaf or would want someone more popular with a good dance routine lmao!you go chris if you get the chance us real music fans would definatly be behind you all the way!
