Pearl Jam have split from their record company, Epic Records, which has been their home since the release of their 1991 debut, Ten.
The band have revealed that they will be self-releasing their upcoming new album - which is as yet untitled - in September.
expressed the band's dissatisfaction with Epic and its parent company, SONY MUSIC, stating,
"Our record company's in shambles right now," said bassist Jeff Ament. "So we're gonna wait for the label to get their shit together before we put anything else out [through them]."
"It's kind of run its course a little bit," he continued. "I mean, the good thing is that we have nothing but time right now, so we can enjoy our free agency."
