I'd sooner catch Swine Flu than listen to stinking Metro Station.
I don't think they qualify either as a rock or a pop band but I think personally they're lyrics are rock but sound is pop. You should listen to a few songs of the band before you judge them because if one song ain't good doesn't mean that all of them are crap.
I would love to go and see them if I could.

OMGSH! just cause metro station released Shake It here, everyone has gone crazy. its so weird. like, i have people coming up to me saying "you should listen to metro station, theyre amazing!". i ask them to name some of their songs, and they can only ever name one. and the dont know any lyrics to any songs or any of the members names. i just hope metro station dont forget the people that have been fans since they were hardly known. ive liked them for going on 2 years, and seen them live twice as support acts :) init. well love metro station :D
You arent listening. They arent a rock band and should not be in a rock magazine. The only reason they are is because the singer is tattooed to fuck and has loads of piercings. Thats the only resemblence to rock (emo).

I just read an itunes review the other day headed "this metro needs it's own 7/7". I laughed for about 10 minutes solid and I have to say, I whole heartedly agree! Obviously you spend too much time listening to radio hits; if you listened to their other lyrics, you'd see they're much better than "shake shake shake it".
I'm not a huge fan, but they're not awful, they're not shit. They play music, and if even one person likes them, they deserve to be recognised for their music.
So get off your high horses everyone and put out an album before criticising other people.

Tom- I was under the impression that Kerrang! promoted alternative tastes in music, which MS certainly fit. So they actually do deserve to be in the magazine, just as much as, say, Dimmu Borgir or however you spell it.
If it was exclusively a rock magazine, bands like Within Temptation and Lamb Of God wouldn't be in it either, as they're metal.
And having tattoos does not constitute to being "emo". Try Jimmy Eat World for that.

But, some people DO like them, and that doesn't mean these people are stupid, have no taste in music, or anything like that. It simply means that they personally happen to, you know, LIKE MS's music? I know that may be hard to believe for some of you narrow minded people, but it's true.
No bands are crap. Even if a band only has five fans, they're still relevant, because someone likes the music.
Maybe it's time everyone stopped being judgmental and actually listened to a band before dismissing them. And even if you have listened and don't like it, that has nothing to do with Trace Cyrus. That's to do with your personal tastes.
