As previously reported, this year's Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival will include sets by two 'secret bands'.

Festival promoters Live Nation have decided to announce the bands in advance to avoid disappointing fans who may think they have snagged some rock legends.

So, without further ado we can confirm that Enter Shikari will be playing the Tuborg Stage at 5:30PM on Friday and Thunder will be playing the Tuborg Stage at 6:40PM on Saturday.

In related news, at 4:45PM on Saturday (June 13) videogame publisher EA will be asking the crowd to help break the world record for the most people simultaneously playing air guitar.

The attempt, promoting the Rocktober release of heavy metal-inspired adventure game Brütal Legend - starring Jack Black, Lemmy, Rob Halford and Ozzy Osbourne - takes place at the EA Hub and will be hosted by Kerrang! FM's Christian Stevenson. Recent Kerrang! magazine cover stars The Blackout will also be lending their support for the attempt.

i think that these two bands were hyped way too much and thats why 'period boy' dave is crying himself to sleep!
People were saying oh, its gonna be metallica or lamb of god who are amazing bands but either way Enter Shikari have done well and deserve to play at download and i am only 16 and i know for a face that Thunder are complete and utter Rock LEDGENDS! and if you don't see that then you shouldn't be going download! you should go to Reading or Leeds or a pussy concert!

Not been to impressed with this years line up. Sonishpere has maybe poached too many bands and now you are left with two festivals that don't seem quite as complete as previous years downloads.

To be honest with you, most bands in the past 3 or 4 years at download have sucked, im not saying all of them do.
There are definate good bands there, theres just a gradual decline in quality with the years.
If you want good music head over to Reading or Leeds, i was there last year and it wiped the floor with Download.

Shikari are one of the best bands live i've ever seen.. They literally tore the roof down at WSM. No joke the roof was missing by the end of their set.

Stop moaning...the only dissapointing thing is that Thunder are on Saturday and not Sunday as thats the day i am going.They are total legends and one of the best live bands ever.

god, you guys all forget that a music festival is about having a laugh and getting drunk and ckecking out some bands, i have been to reading festival the last 3 years, going download this year and reading later in the year and every festival i have ever been to, more people complain beforehand rather than look forward to it! i think everyone on here should just calm down, if your dissapointed about the bands added, just dont go and see them, there are plenty of other bands on and ohter things to do, and im sure once you get a few drinks down you, you will enjoy it a lot more!

this is the reason i'm not going to download this year.. actually this among many. Its not the fact that Enter Shikari are playing, i actually really like them. Its just that Download has turned into a festival for mainstream bands and bands trying to come back. Architects, BMTH, Parkway Drive, ADTR and KSE and a few others are the only good bands this year. I hope Enter Shikari play an amazing set just to piss all you lot off (: Ghostfest here i come.
