Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has revealed that the seminal pop punk outfit have been working on new material, and will air a few new tracks on their upcoming US reunion tour next month.
The band will begin demoing tracks for the follow-up to their 2003 self-titled album while their on the road, and, according to the drummer, the band's new tunes are heavily influenced by the trio's post Blink 182 outfits, +44 and Angels & Airwaves.
"All the stuff we've done since we last played and recorded, it will influence the new stuff," says Barker.
Up All Night, one new song track the band will debut on the tour, sounds like a cross between Blink and barker and guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge's side project Box Car Racer.
"It's kind of heavy," says Barker. "It all makes sense. The pieces are all together."
The drummer also revealed that the band have been "experimenting" with the arrangement for some of their biggest and most loved hits.
Says Barker: "When we started practicing for the tour, going through the old shit, playing the greatest hits - only we'd start experimenting on them a bit, working on different versions. Some of the old songs have new flavour to them."
