Manson goes Top 20

I think that Marilyn Manson’s new album is extremely good. I can listen to it over and over again and never get bored of it. All his music is fantastic and I am disappointed that kerrang only gave him one K for it. In my opinion I think it deserves 5! His music is about his life and how he feels so you are basically saying his feelings are not worth listening to and I think that is very offensive. Next time you rate an album listen to the lyrics and judge them as well as the musical side of the songs!

I thought this album is pretty fucking insane. Its good and its a whole lot better than his last album...lets be honest it sucked. But im glad he has finally glad he has got his head back on. Just hope he doesnt loose it again

Most goths don't actually think they are unique. Most goths just dress like it because they want to, the fact they are "individual" is a 1990's stereotype. Just as "A goth won't admit he is a goth" is a 1980's stereotype.

Oh, and btw, it doesn't mean ANYTHING by it being in the Top 20. Most people who listen to Manson aren't goths...he's just popular music.

Besides, Sisters of Mercy were popular and they are "goth" leaders (well they deny it but hey)

The goths I knew all thought they were "alternative" and "unique" and "different".

Ergo, Marilyn Manson fans are many in number.

From that we can draw the conclusion that the afore-mentioned goths were not as unique and different as they thought.

It really isn't a difficult concept to grasp, people. Hopefully my protracted explanation has left those of you who were scratching your heads a little clearer on my thoughts.

As a fan of the Misfits, AFI and the Cure, I know what a fucking goth is. I didn't say HE was a goth, I implyed that the majority of his fanbase were goths.

Many cultures throughout history have assosciated the colour black with death. It is the colour of choice in most modern cultures' funerals (or equivalent). The gothic style focuses heavilly on the colour black greatly because of its assosciation with those things considered macabre, dark or to do with death. Where black does not "=" death, they are inextricably linked.

His album is certainly better than one K and it is a grower but people of here saying it is worth 5Ks are being silly, when you compare it to Antichrist, Animals or Holy Wood it doesn't stand a chance.

That said though it is a solid album, I would probably give it 3 or 4 if I was feeling generous.

Ok, so reviews are personal opinion, but a mere one K out of 5 is a bit stupid and over the top, especially from a music magazine where professionals are meant to offer a realistic view. Most music mags have been rating this as 3 or 4 out of 5, good not great, but thats hardly the same level of a downright pure awful one K. some of the lyrics are very lazy, sure, but there are a few decent tracks on there. Hopefully the nasty review will make manson wake up and try harder with any future efforts..

I cant believe he got 1K! outrageous .. the high end of low is an immense album .. and should have got at least 3 ... AT LEAST!!
