Anthrax part ways with "sick" vocalist Dan Nelson

Anthrax have parted company with frontman Dan Nelson.

This news comes days after it was revealed that the vocalist was struck down with a mystery illness leading to the cancellation of several European shows.

Former Devilsize singer Nelson joined the band in December 2007.

In order to fulfill their Sonisphere commitments, the remaining band members will team up with former vocalist and "good friend" John Bush for a one-off performance on August 1 at Knebworth.

"The members of Anthrax have confirmed the departure of vocalist Dan Nelson," reads an official statement posted on www.anthrax.com. "In light of this development, Anthrax's slot on the U.S. Slipknot dates set for August and September, has also been cancelled.

"Anthrax is already actively considering lead singer candidates, and look forward to hitting the road before the end of the year."

The band's forthcoming album, Worship Music, will be released in October.

Who do you think should front Anthrax? Let us know...

They should get either Joey Belladonna back or John Bush. Leave Corey Taylor in Slipknot and Stone Sour. Lou Koller of Sick Of It All would be a good vocalist aswell

They should get John Bush back...

By the way, I saw them here in Brazil with John Bush (in 2005 I think) and It was simply awesome!! I want them back with Bush on vocals, and this time with Frank Bello and Dan Spitz, instead of Joey Vera and Rob Caggiano!!

I hate to say it but I think the Anthrax are loosing their credibility... though it actually started when they dissed Mr Bush with that menaingless reunion tour..$$$$
Here's hoping Bush allows them to eat humble pie & bring them back to the good times

Having seen both Bush and Belladonna, the only real choice is to BEG John Bush to rejoin Anthrax as a permanent vocalist. The energy that guy releases on stage and the chemistry that goes on between them all is too good to be passed up.
Belladonna just can't do it like Bush can!
Corey Taylor would be a good second choice though.
