Led Zeppelin have been offered "huge money" to play London's O2 Arena following the sudden death of Michael Jackson, according to industry insiders.
Jackson was due to perform 50 shows at the arena later this month. According to The Sun, AEG, the promoters behind Jackson's money-spinning London residency, stand to lose millions of pounds following Jackson's death. Reports suggest they have approached the legendary rockers and Swedish disco icons Abba to perform alternate nights.
Led Zeppelin played their first concert for 19 years at the same venue two years ago, as part of a memorial concert for the late Atlantic Records boss Ahmet Ertegun.
A source told the newspaper: "Only Michael Jackson could sell out 50 nights at such a big arena, but Led Zeppelin and Abba combined might just rival him. There is huge money on the table."
