Korn bassist Fieldy has gathered some of the biggest names in rock to help raise money for Deftones bassist Chi Cheng, who remains in a "semi-conscious" state in a San Jose hospital after suffering serious injuries in a car accident on November 3.
According to Cheng's brother, his insurance company has stopped paying for his medical treatment in January and A Song For Chi will help defray these costs.
A Song For Chi features appearances from the following musicians: Jim Root (Slipknot), Sid Wilson (Slipknot), Ray Luzier (Korn), Fieldy (Korn), Dave McClain (Machine Head), Rob Trujillo (Metallica), Clint Lowery (Sevendust), Morgan Rose (Sevendust), Brian 'Head' Welch (ex-Korn), James 'Munky' Shaffer (Korn), Wayne Lozinak (Hatebreed), Wuv (P.O.D), Mike Wengren (Disturbed) and Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage).
The song itself is available as a free download, but information is given on how to make a donation.

Man this is just so great. See what people can do, rock stars can do when they put aside egos and show love and support for a dear friend who has made great rock and metal and toured for many years to many fans around the world. I saw Deftones on the Fur tour years ago, great gig. Let's all pray for Chi to recover and donate. Let us hope that this can be an example of the positive things rock and metal bands can do. Show love and support and rock your head for Chi!
