Bullet go 'classic' on new album

Bullet For My Valentine have revealed that the follow-up to 2008's Scream Aim Fire will have more of a "hard rock" sound.

Speaking to German mag Metal Hammer about the as-yet-untitled new track their aired at last weekend's Sonisphere festival Tuck said: "[Musically] I don't think it's like anything on [2005's] The Poison or Scream Aim Fire. It's not thrashy or really intense metal or anything. It's just like a mid-tempo kind of really nice, hard rock song. I don't even class it as metal, really. It's got metal influences and a really cool metal riff, but the song, as a vibe, is more hard rock."

The band are currently on the Rockstar energy Drink Mayhem tour in the US and will eb returning to the studio later this year to finish recording the as-yet-untitled album with producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Avril Lavigne).

Did they actually say that at all though? The quote you put was about one song, not the album in general.

I know! Kerrang! twists words alot, I didn't read the word "classic" anywhere in that paragraph, just trying to get attention I think. I mean hurray if the new album has a "classic" sound but they havn't said that yet.

yea, i read that they said the album was going to be more like The Poison, going back to their roots, which I thought was a very good thing, cause in my mind, Scream Aim Fire kinda sucked in comparison, still a good album, but just not the same or as good as The Poison.
I trust more in the words of their myspace and more first hand information

If you actually watch the interview they do say the whole album. As in they do say that the whole album will be more hard rock...not just the one song.

Didn't Matt said that new album is going to be way more aggressive? Well, I guess we shouldn't really belive everything we read. Anyway, I can't wait until the album comes out (Feb'10) If it's hard rock influenced by metal and still has Bullet sound in it... then it's not going to be entirely different from others will it? I'll just have to be patient.

I agree trish-trash#. I've got confidence that those guys will deliver some great stuff [whether it's hard rock or metal]. I did read somewhere that their album was going to be released on Sep14th - which obviously isn't true as Matt said to Kerrang! that it would be released Feb 2010! Just goes to show you can't believe everything you read... That statement is very misleading though..
