DJ AM - real name Adam Goldstein - was found dead in his Manhattan apartment after a suspected drugs overdose on August 28.
Police said that they found a crack pipe and prescription pills in his home.
Goldstein, aged 36, often performed with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker as TRV$DJAM and released two free download compilations, Fix Your Face and Fix Your Face Vol 2: Coachella.
The pair were the sole survivors after a plane crash which killed four people in South Carolina on September 20, 2008. Hours earlier, the duo performed with Perry Farrell in front of thousands of students at a South Carolina college.
Goldstein was said to be devastated over the break-up with his girlfriend, Hayley Wood, earlier this week. His final entry on Twitter (dated August 25, 10:57PM) read: "New York, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain't always what it seems."
