Every Time I Die have completed work on their fifth studio album, New Junk Aesthetic.
The album is set to feature a host of guest appearances from the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato, The Bronx's Matt Caughthran and, rather controversially, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz.
In an exclusive interview in this week's Kerrang! magazine, frontman Keith Buckley defends his choice of guest musicians:
"I don't know how other artists and other bands look at it, but for me recording an album represents a great opportunity to collaborate with friends and musicians that I respect and admire," he told K!. "Realistically I don't see why we wouldn't have wanted to get these people involved. As a kid I'd always wondered what it would be like to share the writing and recording experience with some of these people, and this time we actually got to do it."
The inclusion of Wentz in particular has proved a controversial issue with fans, prompting the singer to release a statement in defence of the Fall Out Boy member.
"It's amazing to see how many people have been bashing us for it," laughs Buckley. "Whether people like his band or not, Pete is a really great friend of ours and a total hardcore kid at heart. All I can say to people is to wait and hear the song before they pass any kind of judgement. I really don't think that people are going to be able to say a bad word about it."
New Junk Aesthetic will be released on September 14 via Epitaph. For the full interview, be sure to pick up a copy of this week's Kerrang! magazine.
