I'm so glad that Metallica and Mastodon won! Not really a Slipnot fan but i'd rather them win then some shit band.

In case of fire, are without a doubt the worst band i have seen live. And i have seen many shite bands in my time. These dont deserve to win anything, when i saw them, the most crowd movement they god was me scraching my nose and yawning. this band is truely aweful. please stop giving them acclaim.

Im REALLY bummed Placebo didnt win in any of thier 3 catagories, "Battle for the sun" is stunning...
And as much as <3 The prodigy, they are as close to rock as metro station (very far away, though they are a HELL of alot better!)
And is it just me, or did Death Magnetic get awards last year too? Or maybe Im just getting it confused with all the hype that over-stated album got for months on end last year.

Might I say quite how happy I am at these results.
Almost all the bands I wanted to win, won. Ok, I would have had 21st Centuary Breakdown over Death Magnetic and Omen isn't exactly the most rock worthy track of all time, but then again, they aren't the bad things that were in those categories.

I was glad to see ICOF with Best British newcomer. Something they were deserving of for a long time. Awesome sound, so stop slagging them off just cos the shitty little emo band never won.

Was also glad to see Mastodon at least win something. Should have been in a few more categories music wise but the Oblivion video is truely amazing.

And on a final note, none of the crap won anything. I refer to such bands as Metro Station and BMTH. Pop bands and stupid lacks of talent do not belong in the Kerrang awards. Go some place else.

It's about bloody time!! Every year I look at the Spirit of Independence and wonder why the Wildhearts have never been recognised! Always recorded what they wanted, how they wanted for whom they wanted. Even trashed Kerrang!'s office in an act of solidarity and (er) independence! Catch them if you can on their UK tour :)

I personally think the best british band is a disgrace, ive seen in case of fire 3 times, un-willingly and im shocked they've won this, theres no doubt theyre talented but in my opinion Attack! Attack! are more than worthy of that award.

Metallica get far too many awards from kerrang, how about a truly great album like Battle for the sun, best of the nominees in my opinion, And the blackouts epic Best in town which wasn't even nominated, they weren't nominated for anything! its a farce!

Limp Bizkit are more than worthy in the hall of fame, but i have to same im shocked by the hipocracy of kerrang lately.

You play things on the TV that would NEVER EVER be in the magazine, you idealise metro station and ignore the brilliant british talent of bands like Deaf Havana and Young Guns and focus on In Case Of Fire who draw crowds of thirty people in wolverhampton, Rightyo.

Next year i'd like it done not just to keep the big boys happy, It'd be lovely to see a small breakthrough band win something big, but i doubt thats ever going to happen in this day and age.

I think my passion should have won the award for best british new commer. They have been working sooo hard for the last 3/4 years with no sniff of sucsess then they finally get somewhere but don't get rewarded for the years of hard work with nothing. And to add My Passion are sooo much better live than in case of fire. I have seen my passion live 3 times and were all amazing(one time they werereally sick with flu and were still amazin) and i always wanna see them again were as in case of fire i have seen them once and never ever wanna see them again(only if i'm forced to).

I remember checking the votes regularly before they closed, for example for Best British Newcomer Incase of Fire had about 70k votes, and My Passion were well on the way to 700k.

Best album Greenday were dominating with over a million votes with none of the others over 700k.

Best Live band I don't mind Slipknot winning but Madina Lake were dominating the votes for that.

I could carry on listing the others that I remember, but its pointless because it wont change anything. I'm hoping some of will you understand what I mean. Our votes counted for shit, at the end of the day the results were already pre determined and there was nothing we could do about it.

My passion deserved to win and the only reason they didnt is because they are endorsed by redbull and in case of fire went on the KERRANG RELENTLESS tour. nobody knows who they are, therefore they arent a good newcomer. Everyone has heard of my passion even if they arent a fan

I'm not gunna complain and winge about In Case Of Fire winning and say they are aweful or anything, because they are not.

My Passion really did deserve to win, and although they were up against some pretty good bands, My Passion are the band in which, to me have worked hard touring almost constantly and writing/recording/releasing one of the best albums to come out all year. The fact that people seem to be calling them gay and saying they are only where they are because they look good is stupid. The fact that they are caring about their apperance just shows that they are putting effort into EVERYTHING they do, and preparing themselves before they go on stage instead of going onstage drunk or looking like they've just climbed out of bed and went straight onstage.

Okay first off, Prodigy are not rock, and I hate the fact that they are classed as it, they are awful and I hate it.

Bullet are a great band and one of my favourites but due to the fact that they have been quiet due to Matts throat operation (no pun intended) they shouldnt have won the award this year.

Also I beleive Shinedown 5FDP and Gallows should have won something.

Im so pleased Linkin Park won 'Classic songwriter' I love LP & will follow them till the end!!! Also glad that Limp Bizkit got 'Hall Of Fame' :D But saddened that Papa Roach didn't get best video but Mastodon are an amazing band so all is good. So glad to see someone else agree with me that The Prodigy aren't a rock band. No offence to them at all but they have no place at rock festivals or in the magazines. Piercing and tattoos do not make a heavy metal band. I watched them at the IOW festival and it reconfirmed for me that they are a great dance act but by no means at all are they metal...

I don't read Kerrang but I'm delighted In Case of Fire won. I'm into rock music but whenever I see Kerrang on a shelf I see talentless eyeliner ridden cunts and want to vomit.

ICOF make great music and this was a solid debut that they can build on. Thankfully they stuck to what they're good at and didn't stick a load of bollocky pop hooks in (although apparently half of the people on here would love that).

Happy with who won here, apart from Omen, but that's cause I preffered the other songs on the shortlist :)

2. Best international newcomer - i dont have a problem with The Gaslight Anthem , but i feel they shouldn't have won . But at least Metro Station didnt win .. Steel Panther should've been on there over Metro Fucking Station .

listen mate , they may have influenced a genre or w/e but then go to a different magazine company ! i hardly see any classy acts on kerrang/scuzz anymore cuz its filled with the prodigy/metro station etc ! got nothing against them but they need to find a different programme/mag .

1. YM@6 should have gotten Best British Band, purely for the fact they don't ever keep their fans waiting with music, i.e theyve added 5 extra songs to their album since the initial release, they don't disappoint and their K! Awards show was bloody brilliant!

I was on the barrier for The Blackout at Camden Barfly when the news about In Case of Fire came through by text...the WHOLE crowd booed, it was hilarious! Knowing how fanatical My Passion fans are, I hate to think how many ICOF fans wore out their keyboards voting.

I got told the other day that apprently "The final decision of all winners is down to the Kerrang staff regardless of votes." was somewhere on the voting pages now i never saw that but if that's true then i'd like to know what's the point in getting us to vote? I'm not going to complain that certain bands didn't get awards because that won't change anything but what i am going to say is if the votes don't count then i think the whole exercise of getting people to vote is pointless and just causes a load of bad feeling!

Also, to all those having a go at things not being a certain genre you need to open your minds a little bit or if you can't manage to appreciate music from another genre then keep your thoughts to yourself I'm sick to death of people having a go at each other because they don't have the same music taste. Accept each others differences imagine if everyone was the same it would be so boring! I'd be suprised if most people who are having a go at the "poppy bands" could honestly say that they've listened to some of their songs with an open mind and vice versa.

finally i want to say congrats to the bands that won and commiserations to those who didn't.

I got told the other day that apparently "The final decision of all winners is down to the Kerrang staff regardless of votes." was somewhere on the voting pages now i never saw that but if that's true then i'd like to know what's the point in getting us to vote? I'm not going to complain that certain bands didn't get awards because that won't change anything but what i am going to say is if the votes don't count then i think the whole exercise of getting people to vote is pointless and just causes a load of bad feeling!

Also, to all those having a go at things not being a certain genre you need to open your minds a little bit or if you can't manage to appreciate music from another genre then keep your thoughts to yourself I'm sick to death of people having a go at each other because they don't have the same music taste. Accept each others differences imagine if everyone was the same it would be so boring! I'd be suprised if most people who are having a go at the "poppy bands" could honestly say that they've listened to some of their songs with an open mind and vice versa.

As far as the album is concerned lets just say it was a huge improvement on their previous studio album and almost as good as 'black album' at times.

I don't think the awards were rigged. I personally might not like some bands, but they do have large fan basses that would have voted for them. Plus it would be very much not like Kerrang to rig them...
