Watch out, Iceland! Cancer Bats are coming your way to headline the Kerrang! stage at this year's Iceland Airwaves festival on October 17.
The Canadian hardcore crew will join over 150 international and Icelandic acts at the 11th annual five-day festival, which takes place across Reykjavík between October 14-18.
"We're so fucking stoked," says frontman Liam Cormier. "When I was 12 years old, I'd listen to Björk and The Sugarcubes and think, 'What a mystical land. Will I ever rock there in my lifetime?'. Kerrang! have made all my Nordic dreams come true."
For UK fans considering making the trek, Liam promises a performance which will "melt glaciers".
"We're going to lose our fucking minds at that show! Everyone should prepare themselves for the heaviest show they'll ever witness! We'll have to check in extra bags of riffs and distortion at Toronto airport!"
Joining Cancer Bats at Reykjavík's Sódóma venue are Iceland's Agent Fresco, Klink, Ourlives, Cliff Clavin, We Made God and Noise.
Tickets for the festival cost 50 euros (approx £45). For more details, travel and hotel deals, visit www.icelandairwaves.com.
