The MTV Video music Awards took place at New York's Radio City Music Hall last night (September 13) and Green Day were officially rock's big winners, collecting a grand total of three Moon Man trophies.
The band's video picked up the gongs for Best Cinematography, Best Direction and beat off tough competition from Paramore's Decode and Fall Out Boy's I Don't Care to win Best Rock Video too.
Beastie Boys beat David Lee Roth's California Girls and Foo Fighters' Everlong to pick up the retrospective Best Video (That Should Have Won A Moonman) award for Sabotage.
The VMAs hosted by Russell Brand will air tonight at 8PM (GMT) on MTV.
