Muse to pen next Bond theme?

In an interview with the BBC, Muse have revealed that they’d love the chance to write and record the next James Bond theme.

"It's something we'd probably say yes to, or at least give it a good go,” said drummer Dom Howard. “Certainly some of our music fits with the James Bond vibe - and I think it could work."

"The last few [Chris Cornell’s You Know My Name from Casino Royale and Alicia Keys’ and Jack White’s Another Way To Die from The Quantum Of Solace] have been pretty good,” he added. “But I think we could do a good job."

Howard also said that United States Of Eurasia from their new album The Resistance "could have worked [as a Bond theme] but it's probably a bit late for that now".

If you could re-score a movie, what film would you pick and who would be on the soundtrack and why?

Speak your brains below...

Amon Amarth to score Braveheart. Is an explanation needed?! Imagine Wallace charging with Twilight of the Thunder God playing in the background!

I would so pick Lostprophets to be on the soundtrack to every movie if it were up to me XD

Well I'd go for My Chemical Romance with doing a cover of Bob Dylan but cause that's already been done I'll just go with Avenged Sevenfold, Mindless Self Indulgence or Jonas Brothers,

I'd like to see a Slipknot song in the next SAW film- I think Disasterpiece, Skin Ticket or Prosthetics would suit them perfectly.

I'd go for deftones. I've heard songs from White Pony in a couple of films and they really play well with a scene.

Enter Shikari would make an amazing soundtrack to a sci-fi film. Imagine the end of the world with one of their epic breakdowns blaring out in the background.

My Chemical Romance would be brilliant because their albums are all so different and they have so much talent. I know they'd write a brilliant one.

I would choose the Red Friday Band to pen the theme to the next hardcore action movie.... we need a new action hero, and a decent soundtrack to boot. Red Friday Band all the way!

lostprophets?, it'll be gayer than the gayest of the gays

hmm...tough choice. Probably My Chemical Romance on the Pirates of the Caribean soundtrack. To have a bunch of pirates running about clashing swords during Hang 'em High or Kill All Your Friends would just be oughtright funny

I don't know why, but I wanna see Green Day do the next Wallace + Gromit film. Could be great, could be shit, we'll have to see!

Whores of fucking hades; so much could be redone to movies and their soundtracks.

would anyone else like to see Twilight take a decent twist? Where they all die; and instead of Robert Pattison pouting and skulking his vampire ass through daylight; we watch him die, through a series of humorous deaths. All this while The Blackout play Children Of The Night in the background.

I'd much rather see Sean Smith & his merry cohorts ripping Alaska (or wherever) to shit.

I realise that I've offended thousands of 12-15 year old girls out therre by saying this; so i'd like to take this opportunity to say...

READ A HALF-DECENT BOOK. WATCH DECENT MOVIES. GET A LIFE.

Shimmering in daylight; HA! Vampires burn when exposed to masses of light. They're called creatures of the NIGHT for a reason.

Rant Over.
Peace Out Fucko's.

i'd have to pick either step up or step up 2 and put Amon Amarth in just to see the look on peoples faces when they want rap and are blasted apart by metal

So Ian Watkins believes that he's writing the next James Bond theme. So he's writing music for a film that i dont believe has been green lit, most likely has no script, no title, no cast, no release date. Me thinks he's talking out his arse. Then again it wouldnt be the 1st time the deluded little prick spouted bullshit. someone needs to slap him round his pretty boy face and shave his fucking ridiculous hair off. go back to wearing baggy jeans, you remember ian, when you were in a rock band rather than latecomers to emo pop rock shite.

He genuinely believes he's in the best band in the world. Best band in the world MY ARSE!!

I think Alestorm or Swashbuckle is better suited.

Don't give us gays a bad name. I'm gay and I'd HATE to be associated with Lostprophets...they aren't gay - they are far below that. Only straight people could make music that whiny.

I'm a huge Muse fan and never ever want them to do any Bond theme.

i apologize for using "gay" as an insult, it's just the only word i could find to describe lostprophets

they are now frenchmen, far, far beyond gay

Posted by a wise man | September 18, 2009 2:14 PM | Reply to this

Heh...it's fine. I use the word gay all the time. One of my teachers had a go at someone in my class for using the word gay. Then me and my other friend (who is gay) both sat there going "but we're the only fags in the class and we're not offended".

Anyway...yeah...they are frenchmen =P

James Bond should lighten up and have a party, instead of the usual DogShite themes he should get A Day To Remember - The Downfall Of Us All

*The name's Bond...James Bond...DA DA DA DA DA DA...DA DA DA DA DA, DA DA DA DA DA DA, DA DA...LETS GOOOOOOO!*

Metallica playing The Unforgiven over the opening credits of a proper western? lethal, or even attatching their cover of ennio morricones The Ecstasy of Gold to the scene on The Good The Bad The Ugly, unreal.

Nice to see people are coming up with intelligent things to say..
I'm pretty sure Lostprophets kick ass 10 times more than any of the shit you listen to.
And I know it's shit music that you listen to because you have a number of brain cells that doesn't quite reach double figures.
Grow up.
