Nickelback fly the flag for rock in top downloads chart

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the official UK download chart, the Official Charts Company - the body who compiles the British charts - have published the Top 10 most downloaded tracks of all time.

While the top spots are dominated by recent singles from Lady Gaga and The Kings Of Leon, Canadian rockers Nickelback's mammoth 2008 hit, Rockstar, entered the chart at number 10.

Digital sales now account for around 98% of the singles market.

Fuck i hate this pop rock crap. The most radio friendly rock in the world. Iv heard Lady gaga being more rock than these soft idiots.

i admit that rockstar was a complete sell out single but you have to listen to their old and some of the new stuff. it really is insanely good.

its not meant to be metal and that seems to be what everyone is expecting off them, the are good at their genre and at the end of the day thats what counts.

if ure gona rip someone for calling themselves rock make sure its mcr. they are a waste of time and space, ever since "im not ok" they have been in it just for the money

whats the world come to when a ugly wig wearing hemaphrodite makes it into the worlds most downloaded songs of all time, its not even like she can sing or write songs.

i have lost faith in humanity now that 99 percent of the worlds population will download a song by a tranny merely because everyone else has iy, so they think they should have it to fit in.

to be honest i believe in HAZZZZZZs comment the band r pretty sick the rockstar tune was a bit naff but to be honest that drew more attention to the band from all audiences. thuss creating a much larger profit as more people r buying the naffa album i meen good album :)

Just because YOU don't like some bands, doesn't make them bad. I like Nickelback, especially songs like Far away, Animals, Follow you home...
It doesn't have to be hard-almost-metal rock to be considered as rock band.
And besides, why should all people listen your kind of music?!
I believe this top 10 shows that many people listen to Nickelback despite your opinion.
