Iron Maiden and Rammstein have been confirmed to headline the second annual Sonisphere festival which will take place at Knebworth between July 30 and August 1 next year.
"Knebworth has been the home of so many legendary concerts going back many years it really will be a privilege to play there," said Iron maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson. "We enjoy the camaraderie of playing great festivals and are very much looking forward to getting back out to do some shows next summer and, as it will be over two years since we played the UK, we will certainly be looking to deliver a memorable and spectacular night for our fans!"
"The great support that we've experienced from the UK fans has been beyond anything we expected," said Rammstein in an official statement. "This will be the first time that Rammstein has appeared at a festival in the UK and we are looking forward to putting on a show that no-one will ever forget!"
Other acts on the bill include Alice Cooper, Anthrax, The Cult, Iggy & The Stooges, Motley Crue and Slayer.
Metallica, who headlined the event last year, will be playing a number of the festival's European dates, including the first ever Sonisphere Poland. And, what's more, the first several thousand people who buy tickets to the UK festival will get a free ticket to the Polish Sonisphere.
