And the headliners of Sonisphere are...

Iron Maiden and Rammstein have been confirmed to headline the second annual Sonisphere festival which will take place at Knebworth between July 30 and August 1 next year.

"Knebworth has been the home of so many legendary concerts going back many years it really will be a privilege to play there," said Iron maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson. "We enjoy the camaraderie of playing great festivals and are very much looking forward to getting back out to do some shows next summer and, as it will be over two years since we played the UK, we will certainly be looking to deliver a memorable and spectacular night for our fans!"

"The great support that we've experienced from the UK fans has been beyond anything we expected," said Rammstein in an official statement. "This will be the first time that Rammstein has appeared at a festival in the UK and we are looking forward to putting on a show that no-one will ever forget!"

Other acts on the bill include Alice Cooper, Anthrax, The Cult, Iggy & The Stooges, Motley Crue and Slayer.

Metallica, who headlined the event last year, will be playing a number of the festival's European dates, including the first ever Sonisphere Poland. And, what's more, the first several thousand people who buy tickets to the UK festival will get a free ticket to the Polish Sonisphere.

Tickets are on sale now at www.aloud.com.

What do you guys think?

Isn't everyone getting sick of all the festivals being headlined by the same rotating bunch of bands? It's always Iron Maiden or Metallica! I used to be a massive Metallica fan but I'm just sick of seeing them now.

Paradork your another typical teeny bopper who needs educating (your name and the capitals in the middle say it all) , Paramore are just a coporate built pop punk band who would be nowhere if Hayley Williams was some fat girl with glasses and braces .

Rammstein are one of the best bands around today and write consistently brillant albums , give anything by them a listen and you'll see how much better they are .

Unlike Paramore , Rammstein deserve cover features and headlining slots at arenas/festivals . So i suggest YOU shut up and go listen to real music .

Hahaha, as much as i agree with you on your music interests, it's really ironic how you say someone needs educated in a sentence filled with shit grammar.

As soon as I found out Iron Maiden were playing I was all over it. And Motley Crue? It just gets better. I live in Hertfordshire so Knebworth's literally just up the road from me.

My cousin from Scotland is coming down with her (by then) 2 month old twins. It's gonna be a good'un!
