Since last week’s official announcement that Iron Maiden and Rammstein will be headlining the UK leg of Sonisphere next summer, the internet has been awash with rumours as to who will be headlining the other big British rock festivals.
Thrash titans Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax are set to play together at the Polish and Czech Republic dates of Sonisphere. However, while the organisers of the event deny that the Big Four will be appearing as part of the UK bill, they still haven't confirmed exactly who will be headlining the opening night of the festival and promise that the four thrash legends will be added to more of the travelling festival’s dates soon...
Last night AC/DC allegedly self-confirmed for Download 2010 with a post on the tour dates page of their official website stating that they’d be playing the festival on June 11. The post was soon deleted.
Festival organizer Andy Copping immediately dismissed the rumours via his Twitter page saying, “Not sure what to say about the AC/DC slip up tonight, it appears to have been taken off their site now. I think they may just want to play.”
Meanwhile AFI, Gallows and Against Me! have been confirmed for the German leg of Give It A Name. There has been no official confirmation as to who will be playing the UK dates yet.
