Green Day set to launch own Rock Band game

Green Day have announced that they will launch their own edition of Rock Band in the new year.

"We've worked with the Rock Band team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we're excited to now be working on a game spanning our entire career," said frontman singer Billie Joe Armstrong. "We want people to fire this up, choose their favorite Green Day tracks and play along with us as Rock Band avatars so they can feel what it's like to perform on stage as Green Day."

Rock Band: Green Day will be released next summer on Xbox, PlayStation 3 and Wii.

So a band of people who aren't particularly talented at their chosen instruments are getting a rock band game. this is bound to be just as bad as the beatles one.

hooray. Not that I have anything in particular against Green Day but I just feel rock band and guitar hero games should involve more challenging songs than three chord punk tracks.

Surely, rather than having expensive games consoles and games such as rock band and guitar hero, it would be better if people actualy learnt how to play guitar (or bass, or drums - take your pick). Just saying.

How about a Download rock band with slipknot, faith no more limp buzcuit and all

personally though pick up a real guitar and learn, thats what i did and these games dnt appeal to me anymore

They should create better controllers! More realistic ones, with say 6 buttons instead of 5 >:] people are so gonna get bored easily, learn their songs on real guitar people! It'll work out better!

paramore should totally make a video game! they love video games and always play them and if they made their own they could put all aspects of their fave games into one!wooot! and it would totally rock!!!!!!! i know of atleast one person who'd buy it!!!

LOL @ Lostprophets would sell millions, their albums don't even sell that many, nevermind a game.

AC/DC has already been done as an expansiion pack.

Queen would sell loads, though Singstar already have the rights to them.

I'd love to see an Opeth one, that would be challenging for all the instruments, and especially the lead singer.

But if were talking what would sell loads, then Led Zepplin, Nirvana, Alice In Chains. Foo Fighters etc.

should be a fun game to play!
i agree more people should pick up a real instrument and actually learn the songs but at the end of the day rock band is harmless fun, great for house parties and drunkard party games!
as a drummer (and bass player) i personally can't wait to play along to nimrod and keplunk :D

next rock band/ guitar hero should be IRON MAIDEN!!!
the animators/designers would have a field day with the background animations using eddie :P

How about a Rock Band for Post Metal etc?! Even just a track pack with Neurosis, Cult of Luna, Isis, Pelican, Amenra etc?

Because a decent guitar/bass and amp is probaby the same amount as the console and game with the guitar,drums and mic, and drums are WAAYYY more expensive.
Its like saying "Don't buy assassins creed 2, just go and assassinate real people" LOL.

love green day more than i've ever loved anything, they're such an inspiration and their music has got me through a lot of difficult times. Everything they do turns to pure gold, and im sure this game will be no exception. Cant wait!
