Has Louis Walsh lost the plot?

After last night’s shock defeat where X Factor contestant Joe McElderry was beaten to the top of the British singles charts by Rage Against The Machine, X Factor judge Louis Walsh clearly isn’t taking the news well.

Writing in The Sun today, Walsh claims that “Joe will go on to sell more albums than Rage have ever done.”

“He’s going to have a huge career,” Walsh continued. “Missing out on the Number One this week will not make a difference in his life. Rage Against the Machine couldn’t fill Wembley now. I think Joe will.”

Okay Louis… Joe clearly has some catching up to do. Not only have Rage sold an estimated 25 million albums worldwide, last year they headlined Scotland’s T In The Park festival, the Oxegen festival in Ireland and the Reading and Leeds Festivals in England.

This is to Louis from about everyone i know.
out of all the x-factor shows that have been shown over the years and somebody has won them. how many of them have stuck it out as a propper creer and not just being a one day hit in the charts. how does Louis know that Joe will stick it? & im sure everyone in the world would want to know about this.. At least people are going to remember Rage Against The Machine more than Joe in years to come.

joe will be lucky if anyone remembers who he is 15 years from now, let alone have any hope of selling anywhere near as many albums in the same space of time.

it's funny how yesterday they were saying how we've ruined Joe's career, now they're saying it wont affect it... make up your minds FGS!

Oh my god, how thick is this man?
None of the X Factor winners last more than a couple of years. The runners up always do better and even then they fail epicly.
HE just doesn't like everyone focusing on Simon Cowell so he thought he'd grab some attention.- it's pretty pathetic tbh.
And Rage probably could fill Wembly tbh and I dont even like them alot. THey have 10x the talent Joe has becasue they didn't need some crumby 'reality' tv show to get famous.

Is he high? Has he been hanging around with Towelie off of South Park lol? Lets look at the past winners shall we. Now kudos to the first bloke who won since he said he supported the campaign, but is he still relevent? No. Wheres the next 2 or 3? I lost count as to how many there have been. The only one thats stayed relevant was last years, but shes simply hanging on by a thread. Killing In The Name was released in 1992, its still relevent world wide, Facebook last night the vast majority of my friends, myself included were ecstatic and posted about it, my sisters fiance even wrote a blog, he is in a band that are very Rage-like however so it wasn't a childish post, a very serious one. When X-Factor is put up against true, talented musicians, it gets its ass kicked. But Rage were perfect to deliver the big fuck you to them. Oh and of course Rage could fill Wembley Arena, they could fill any venue worldwide. Will X-Factor douche headline a festival? I don't think so. Will he sell more than 25 million albums? I don't think so. Will he still be in the public eye a year from now? I don't think so.

On a side note-how hilarious would it be if Rage played in South Shields, the home of the X-Factor loser lol? I know they don't have an arena or even an academy there but if they had done it would've been hilarious.

As an Irish person, I think I can safely say Louis Walsh is simply a twat... There's no better word for him. He probably doesn't have a clue who Rage are in the first place, and judging by the fact they're a rock band, he reckons Joe will outsell them... What a knob...

This is a real victory for real music, now I'm sick of people saying that this should not be number at Christmas but the thing is due to the shit that the X factor pumps out there has not been a true Christmas Song at Christmas number 1 for years the closest we got was The Darkness as a Christmas Number 2.

Now what I propose for next year is 1 of 2 routes.

1) The Christmas Song Route : Silver Bells: Twisted Sister awesome true jolly Christmas song.

2) The piss take route: Disciple: Slayer Now nothing would be funnier on "Christs" birthday than the line God hates us all and it also brings religion back into Christmas lol!
