Be A While Till Avenged Bring Out Their 5th Album. According To A News Report And Avenged Myspace The Rev Died Without Recording The Drum Tracks To The Album. So The Band Will Have To Get A New Drummer And Record The Tracks. Autumn-Winter 2010 Will Probably Be The Earliest :( R.I.P Jimmy Sullivan <3

It's doubtful Avenged will have the album out next year. It was guna be amazing un'all :'(

Dedicate next weeks issue to The Rev, it's the least that you could do.
Btw everyone, there's groups on facebook trying to get Afterlife to number 1, download it off iTunes, Amazon, Play, whatever you can. See if we can at least get it in the charts, and show The Rev some respect he deserves.
RIP Jimmy x

avenged should bring the album out next year if they can but as a tribute to him, it would have been amazing

get afterlife no 1 for The Revs birthday on Feb 10th, he will never be forgotten

Thanks for having more Placebo articles and my comment would be more a request can you please have an entire issue dedicated to Placebo please as you did recently for Green Day and previously for so many bands like Korn. Thank you so much please take it under consideration? Im sure you'll have plenty of people buying the mags!

KERRANG!
love the new issue especially the A7X and MCR articles,
but i think everyone would be so appreciative if there was a Rev poster special or at least a section dedicated to him as he was so inspirational to thousands of people around the world,
please kerrang me asking as possibly one of the biggest A7X fans in the world
a mention would make my week,
i love you magazine and i love Avenged Sevenfold so much,
everyone wants to see an article

Im a massive Avenged Sevenfold Fan.. And I Think That You Should Do A "Rev" Tribute Issue Next Week With An All Special Avenged Sevenfold Poster Special.

I Was Reading Earlier..
(After Walking Down To Town In The Cold And Wet To Get My Issue...)
And Im Hoping That They Can Find A New Drummer Soon As I Understand They Were Due To Hit The Studios In Janurary..It Still Wont Be The Same, As The Rev Was So Young And So Talented..But It Will Be So Much Better Than Them Splitting Completely..

I STILL Cant Get Over That He's Gone :(
R.I.P James. We'll Miss You..

P.S...Thank Fuck You Are Doing A Kerrang Calender For 2010...
Do You Realise How Pissed Off I Was To Find No Kerrang Calender Last Year?
Stupid Fucking Bits Of Paper Each Month...? WTF Were You Thinking?

I too am a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan.

Please, please dedicate next week's issue, not just a mention.. He was such an amazing character.

Reading the article was seriously hard, knowing he wasn't around anymore.

And it would be nice if Avenged were part of next years calendar...

Poster special at least? RiP, Jimmy <3

please, a dedication to the rev!
nevermind ur MCR and BMTH shite >_>

rip rev!xz

Posted by emma! | December 30, 2009 9:11 PM | Reply to this

I'm not overly fussed about A7X's music, but I will download the song. It'd be a great tribute to The Rev for one of Avenged's songs to get in the charts, at least.

And, you never know, the song might just grow on me (:

RIP The Rev. And I agree with the notion of a dedication in next week's issue.

My Chemical Romance <3

I'm really saddened by the death of Jimmy; he was afterall the only reason I really listened to Avenged Sevenfold- his drumming was simply inspiring.
He's one of the greatest drummers thus far of the 21st century and I too would love some tribute to him

RIP Jimmy, your fans will never forget you.
Condolences to his family, band and friends.

I found it hard reading the article too...I was crying, looking at his picture..knowing hes not around anymore :(

Posted by A7xfreak | December 30, 2009 11:47 PM | Reply to this

I think that there definately needs to be a tribute to the legend that is Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan in next weeks Kerrang!
And Kerrang! also wrote an article encouraging readers to buy Rage to get to no.1 ... can we have the same for A7X - Afterlife ??
Avenged are my favourite band ever and it would be so amazing to see them at least in the charts at this time <3

RIP Jimmy <3

And also Kerrang! you're taking the piss with Hayley Williams posters and interviews and features and whatever now. Can you leave her out for one week ... is that too much to ask?

Posted by Rosie | December 31, 2009 1:38 AM | Reply to this

Angels and airwaves!! LOVE will be the best album ever. Tom is a legend.
Stoked for the new Blink 182 album as well!!

Posted by awesome | December 31, 2009 1:10 PM | Reply to this

So, you shove in the normal "we're going to follow this band and promote them as we jump on the bandwagon cuz we think that it's hot!" albums, but neglect bands such as Evanescence, Within Temptation, Cradle of Filth? These are just the 3 that jump to my mind, but I know there are a lot more I'm looking forward to...

Pathetic issue of Kerrang.

And I disagree that the "Rev" deserves his own tribute issue. There have been people who've contributed more significantly who've got a very small article...and so I don't see why he should get a lot of attention...

I mean, I'm a fair fan of A7X. I thought the Rev was very talented and am saddened by his loss...but I wish people would realise the world will spin, if a little sadder, without him.

I wish to send out all my sympathy to the family of the deceased, and hope that they brave through this unfortunate and painful event.

Posted by A Goth | December 31, 2009 1:25 PM | Reply to this

Yeah, what is with all the Hayley Williams? She is awesome, but what about giving other bands some of the spotlight too? And MCR seems to be everywhere at the moment. I mean, I picked up Alternative Press yesterday, and Kerrang! today, and you both had MCR or a member of MCR on the cover! I'm sorry about whoever died, I mean I don't listen to this band, but I'm sure it was a tragic loss. R.I.P ♥

As another one of Avenged Sevenfolds big fans i feel that it would be appropriate to have an article or a poster special dedicated to the Rev as he was one of the worlds most gifted & amazing drummers. I really do sympathise with the family & other band memebers as they were all so close. much respect to both the band and family

Hey,

Kerrang that's an AWESOME list of albums to look out for.
But where's Paramore ?
They are doing soooooo well, I went to see them on the 14th of December 2009.
AND OMG, they were amazing, Hayley Williams inspires :D
Soo.. I think Paramore should be in that list, they are gonna do awesome in 2010.
Their Brand New Eyes album had ALBUM OF THE MONTH, in October 2009.
So..Paramore should be in that list :D

And Evanescence? They said they're working for 3rd album :D

I, unfortunately, can't buy it just because i live in Italy >.< But i want it ç__ç
I'm a BFMV fan :)

anyway, rip the rev :'(

Too right! Evanescence are releasing their third studio album next year (yes, Evanescence, multi-platinum selling band, remember them Kerrang?) And Within Temptation are doing new material. I won't be buying this shit!

Posted by Patrick | January 2, 2010 6:59 PM | Reply to this

Trust Kerrang to forget about Multi-platinum grammy winning rockers... Evanescence are releasing album number 3 in 2010. I'm pissed at Kerrang for forgettting, if they're doing an issue on artists that'll have new albums you'd think they'd research all of the popular bands at least. But no, it's all MCR and Blink 182! I'm sorry Kerrang, but I've heard enough of these two for a lifetime by now!

Don't you think Paramore/Hayley Williams have had enough mentions for now in this magazine .. we could do with about a month or two away from their coverage .

And also, they've just released a new album so probably wont release a new one this year, the list was for bands who're releasing new albums this year .

Posted by ,,, | January 2, 2010 11:35 PM | Reply to this

Haha, well they've been in there ALOT, and I think they have done the most successful this year. I dunno if a albums been confirmed 2010 or not, so that probably why they left them out.

Thx for the posters =D

The Rev's death was a terrible thing to happen especially at that time of year, but I'm starting to get pissed off at all of the scene whores who only listened to Avenged Sevenfold because they wanted to fuck them

He was an extremely overrated, yet somehow good drummer, and will be greatly missed by his pre-teen whore "fans"

I wonder who will be The Rev at The Rev's Funeral?

The person below me has no Pubes

Posted by Scenester Gates | January 3, 2010 7:22 PM | Reply to this

This is aimed at 'Scenester Gates'.
First of all, I'm a girl, so I don't mind you saying I have no pubes. That's what razors are for ;)

Secondly, I think you're being extremely disrespectful, especially as people (like myself) like Avenged Sevenfold for their music. James Sullivan inspired so many people and he will still continue to do so. Just because the death didn't affect you does not make it any less significant.

Posted by Sevenfold! | January 3, 2010 8:29 PM | Reply to this

WELL SAID!

Posted by La:) | January 3, 2010 9:58 PM | Reply to this

This is aimed at 'the pre-teen scene whore above'

The Rev was a coke-head, he was every pre-teen scene whore's wet dream, he was a fucking terrible drummer and a complete fucking cunt into the bargain

He's only getting this attention because thousands of pre-teen scene whores like yourself wanted to fuck him

By my count, there's one less coke-headed cunt in the world

Posted by Scenester Gates | January 3, 2010 11:44 PM | Reply to this

Okay, I'm not a fan os A7X and I have never listened to there music cos I don't like it (everyone's got different tastes)

And yes I do think the Rev should be in next weeks issue, but I don't think he should have a WHOLE issue, yeah he proberly was great, but others have only had a paragraph written about them, and having a issue for the rev would be disrespectful to others who we've lost in that past.

P.S - I <3 Placebo <3<3<3 Thanks kerrang for including them in K magazine this week! even is u gave them a stupid 3 K's for there o2 gig which was AMAZING!!!! i was there and it rocked my socks right off!

Posted by Sophie | January 4, 2010 3:00 PM | Reply to this

'Pre-teen scene whore'? I can think of a few things wrong with that. I'm 17, definitely NOT a scene kid and a I am a virgin. In my opinion, he is an amazing drummer and inspired me to start playing the drums.

Now, let me explain something to you. This man actually had some talent, and that is why I admired him. Not because I wanted to 'fuck him'. I am happy in my own relationship, thanks very much. I understand that you dislike him, each to their own. But what I don't like is how you're being incredibly disrespectful. At the end of the day, a life is lost.

Yes, he did coke. So what? Haven't you made mistakes before?

Posted by A7x / BFMV | January 5, 2010 3:36 PM | Reply to this

I am a fan of A7X and was deeply saddened by the news of his passing.
I agree there should be some kind of tribute to him (as Kerrang! have promised a week from tomorrow) but an entire issue? I think that's not fair - other bands have lost members, too, and not had entire issues.
I think there should be some kind of tribute (atricle and poster, maybe?) but not an entire issue. It's not realistic.

As for those talking about their album... bear in mind they've just lost a friend/brother and recording will be the last thing on their mind right now.
As much as there is the possibility that ONE DAY they MAY find another drummer, we may have to also consider (as much as I hate to think about it) the possibility that the band may discontinue. It's unlikely, but there is always that possibility.
And give them time... death is a hard thing to deal with.
Relax, about the album - if it's meant to be then one day, however far into the future it is, it will happen.
Just let them grieve for their friend and celebrate the fact they had him in their lives, even if briefly.

RIP The Rev.
The world won't be as much fun without you in it.
Sleep well, forever, and don't cause too much chaos amongst the other angels. =)

really? Doesn't seem it the way she complains about her 'difficult' life every week in K! she needs to get a grip and stop waving her ginger hair in our faces every week. She is earning bucket loads of money and is making music and living a rock star dream, yh might not be perfect, but the world is far from it, so she should be the one to shut up and stop complaining!

Emilie is absolutely amazing, I'm so glad she's starting to get the recognition she deserves! Although she isn't new :) Ive been listening to her since her first release in 98'. Go buy her music so we can hear more of it! I saw her in concert in Lawrence, KS. It was fantastic, and literally the best night of my life. If you get a chance to see this show, GO. It's a once in a lifetime experience. Also, just finished her book The Asylum: For Wayward Victorian Girls. It describes without sparing a detail the horrors of Asylums, even today. They must be stopped.. So join the Asylum Army and become a Plague Rat, today! Right NOW!!

It's brilliant to see the amount of PRs growing at such a phenomenal pace, and I'm pretty sure that her spot in this issue of Kerrang will have got the crumpet rolling even quicker! The Asylum Army are always recruiting, so check out her gigs in the UK this year! Her shows are more than just music, they're theatre, and they're bloody amazing.
Congratulations to EA for getting even more recognition! You certainly deserve it!
