Maybe it's the sound of a former wannabe Korn on their last legs, suddenly realizing just how truly pointless the whole "we hate everyone and everything" shit is
Mallcore shit like this should just fuck the fuck off
Fuck You

The video and song are awesome. Although, it's Slipknot. From them I expect incredible. If Corey Taylor wants to do this kind of music, I suggest he do it with Stone Sour or JBKB. I love Slipknot, but this evolution kind of sucks. When I went to one of their shows they played from their other albums and ony two songs from All Hope Is Gone. Even they know this progression is too much.

It's absolutely amazing. This is what you call progression. When an artist decides they wanna do something different. The same is boring. Thats why "All Hope Is Gone" Consist of Thrash, Power Ballads, Death, etc...
They wanna grow it's something a lot of people who criticize metal should do. So what if they pull a random one out there the world ant gonna end. Maybe for the you. but still.....Take it for some consideration.

Wow... Love the song, the video looks cool but it didn't make sense to me i will have to watch it again, guess i'm just thick or something... Love Corey Taylor...But that part where he was dressed up as a woman was messed up... I think he should stick with the mask... I agree it's not the usual Slipknot we know and love but that doesn't mean it's not good and i'm sure this is just a one off.

From a media student and a director this videos great.
Well shot independently by Shawn who shows he can do things well when he wants to unlike their vol 3 dvd.
I love this song ive loved Slipknot for years but this shows the fact Corey can show emotion through lyrics and they did a song to match his lyrics.
And for anyone who doesnt understand it the meaning of it is He became so obsessed with the one he loved and lost he became them and thats why it ends with him dressing as a woman as he cannot bear the thought of not having her.

This was always the track that stood out the most for me on All Hope Is Gone as its so different and emotional. The lyrics are just beautiful and boy is that a twist at the end!
I think they did the right thing having Corey without the mask for this one as this is the only way he could really portray the emotions of his lyrics. You needed to see his facial expressions, they just gave a whole new dimension to the video.
It's an amazing song and an amazing video. Congrats to Shaun.

I more or less agree with everyone here. Its ok for artists to evolve. But i guess thats why the have different proyects (bands). I love corey, but if i want to hear brutal metal, i wanna hear slipknot tear the freaking world apart. Its like coca cola all of a sudden tries to change the original flavor and expect everyone to like it. (they have tried and failed). I like evolution, just dont force it into something that doesnt need to evolve. bahh i dont know. Still i like this song and everything they do no matter what genre or band. Slipknot kicks ass!
Corey has been in another band for years now, him unmasked isn't a new thing?
Good song, good video

1st off what a song! it is one of my all time faves and definatly one of the best songs off of the album and an ultimate ballad type song which really shows off corey's amazing voice.
More of the same please!!!

It took me about half an hour just to get past the bit where Corey says "Everything" at the very beginnning - had to rewatch that several times cos deary me that man is fine.
Anyway - the song is amazing, the video is a slice of genius. It's Slipknot but not as you know them and that's ok because any band worth it's salt should be free to expeiment and try new stuff - it's called creativity!!!

It is NOT cool! Why is Corey Taylor MASKLESS??? That is not what slipknot is! And where is everyone else? The whole band should be in the video not just Corey. The album 'All Hope is Gone' Is good but I have to say the first one is better which seems to be the case in all bands. Now if all of slipknot would have been in the video it would have been better but they need to kepe their masks on! That like is so toatally not cool....

its clear to see that slipknot are playing to a very different audience since the first to albums. this isnt progress or evolution this is selling out to a bunch of angsty emos. corey should have kept his wingy rubbish for stone sour.to quote the band themselves all hope is gone.
Posted by brutal truth | January 2, 2010 10:31 PM | Reply to this
tHis sounds more like stone sour than slipknot -THIS ISNT PROPER SLIPKNOT!!!! but its not bad
Posted by jordan | January 3, 2010 3:26 AM | Reply to this
corey with out a mask = stone sour
corey with a mask =slipknot
i think hes taken bits from each band and its resulted in the bands sounding the same and doing the same...i do love both bands and i love this song but he really does need to make slipknot sound like there going to rip your fucking face off again..first 2 slipknot albums were fucking brutal but then he went back to stone sour and eveything started to sound the same...BUT still fucking mint

Hi everyone!
I have just read all of your comments and thought I want to add mine too.
To all the people who like the song and like the video, it's much appreciated that you guys actually realise that Slipknot is not all about screaming and breaking shit! To everyone who hates this song and video because it looks like they've copied something or because you actually can't see "The Nine" smashing stuff, doesn't mean it's not about Slipknot.
That said, my comment on this is that I admire Corey Taylor and Slipknot as the ever changing and never changing man/band. I have always loved "Snuff" as a song that exists in my soul. "Snuff" for me represents exactly this, probably because I could be classed as damaged as the character in this video. Big applause to Clown for the making of this video. I read in K! about the clip being on here, Corey cross-dressing and all that shit, and I came to have a look. I'm honestly and utterly impressed! Slipknot, keep it up! I like this and all the rest of "All Hope Is Gone" [not going into detail that I love all of the other albums]!
Oh, and by the way, this Corey without mask, ... I like it! Yeah, ok, people say no mask means no Slipknot, but you know what? I don't care what Slipknot look like, it's the music that matters and Slipknot music makes me feel less empty inside.
Love all. :)

fucking shit
this isnt slipknot new albulm sucks
sell outs.
I think you made some real valid points in your comment, I too had a look at the video after seeing it in kerrang, in my opinion i think it went perfectly with the song, i've read all of the comments on here and to be honest i've heard all of these things before, love it or hate it slipknot are going to evolve, the same as all bands do, they've got to. i love slipknot and i'm a fan who is in his 40's i went to see them with my daughter and made more noise than she did! i love the mayhem, but no matter what they do it always conveys a messege to the individual, you've just got to find it for yourself, for me the song and video showed what corey was trying to say when he split from his wife, like you said it's not all about screaming and breaking shit.
take care a 40 something maggot
