Chad Gilbert: “My surgery would have got 5Ks!”

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert is in a chipper mood despite undergoing surgery earlier this week for suspected cancer.

Gibert, who is currently recovering in hospital after doctors removed half his thyroid gland this past Tuesday (January 26), contacted Kerrang! to say that if we did a review of his surgery, it would have got top marks!

“You would have given the doctor 5K’s on how good the surgery went,” he told Kerrang!'s Simon Young.

Gilbert found out that he may have cancer three weeks ago after doctors discovered a lump on his throat when he went in for treatment for suspected pneumonia. Thankfully, after his surgery on Tuesday, he was given the all clear.
