Good Charlotte are about to hit the studio to start recording the follow-up to 2007’s Good Morning Revival.
The album, which is tentatively titled Cardiology, is being recorded by producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, The All-American Rejects, Dead By Sunrise) in Los Angeles.
Frontman Joel Madden can barely contain his excitement about getting back in the studio and has been posting regular updates via his Twitter.
“Still awake. I gotta be up in 5 hours. Oh well. Might as well listen to some old GC records and get some inspiration for the new one!” he Tweeted on Monday.
Which was quickly followed by: “One week ‘till we start recording again. Yes again. And again. And again. Until it's perfect!”
He also went on to describe the new material – which tentatively includes the tracks 1979, First Plane Home, Love Ain't Easy, Right Where I Belong, Sex On The Radio, Standing Ovation and There She Goes – as “old meets new”, adding “trust me, it’s the most honest we've ever been. You can hear it in every word and every chord.”
Cardiology will be released later this year through Sony BMG.
