Following a near fatal tour bus crash on December 6 which left their frontman Rivers Cuomo with three cracked ribs and a punctured lung, Weezer made their live return last night (January 20).
The band took to the stage at Florida State University in Tallahassee as part of a T-Mobile sponsored gig.
"I'm going to ask the crowd to step it up tonight," Cuomo told MTV News before the show. "I've still got some injuries, so I won't be able to do my usual David Lee Roth routine," he joked.
To assist the singer with vocal duties, Weezer roped in Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams for a duet on Say It Ain’t So, taken from the band’s classic 1994 self-titled album.
“I’m almost to FSU, kinda gotta pee,” she Tweeted at Rivers Cuomo at 8PM EST last night. “But I’m going to write it off as being way anxious. See you soon!”
Before adding three hours later: “That show was ridiculous! I won’t ever forget the first time I sang in 2010, because it was with Weezer!”
In related news, Paramore and Weezer are set to headline the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey on May 1 and 2.
