And joining AC/DC as Download headliners will be…

Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith will join AC/DC as headliners of the Kerrang!-sponsored Download festival, which is set to take place at Donington Park in Leicestershire between June 11 and 13.

Rage, who enjoyed beating X Factor finalist Joe McElderry to the Christmas Number One spot in December, announced last week that they would honour their promise to play a free show for fans who supported the Rage Factor campaign. The gig is taking place at London’s Finsbury Park on June 6 and is just days before their headline slot at Download.

“Due to the insane demand for tickets for the free Rage show in Finsbury Park, we have decided to jump on this year’s Download Festival as well and spread The Rage Factor around the country a bit,” explains guitarist Tom Morello. “Here we come, motherfuckers!”

In recent weeks, there has been much speculation as to whether legendary Boston rockers Aerosmith are actually still together. However, frontman Steven Tyler hopes that this festival announcement will put pay to internet rumours of any alleged band infighting.

“In the early days of Aerosmith we were infected with the vibe coming out of the UK with The Yardbirds, Blues Breakers, Pretty Things and the Stones and we wanted what they had bad,” says Steven Tyler. “So baby, we’re coming home! Rock ‘n’ Roll can be pure sex and we can’t wait ‘til Download!”

Stay tuned to Kerrang! Dot Com for another exclusive announcement at 12:30 this evening…

Tickets for Download 2010 are on sale now from www.downloadfestival.co.uk. Weekend tickets cost £145, optional extras are priced as follows: camping tickets (three days) £25, camping tickets (five days) £35, family camping (three days) £25, family camping (five days) £35, car park passes £15 advance or £20 on the day, campervans £40 and lockers £11.

erm looks tasty but .c mon if we honest this could be better lets run through . ac dc great band very good band . agree with them . rage erm not sure just seems you give a free gigg away only to take some money from a big festival smart move thou but still a good band . okay now here we go areosmith did we not all read a few weeks ago that steve and the rest of the guys had a fall out something about trying to replace steve behind his back .great ban back in there day but as of late there stuff has not been as good as the old days .. dont get me wrong im not trying to say that people should not go.or the bands are shit and dont belong there . im just saying i dont think this as good as it looks . take sonnisphere . it has uk only for some acts even a festival called hammer festival in wales looks good . i love my music like the next person and i love download but there does not seem to be the same pull as the early years . i dont know also why the wait for the other 5 bands . why wait till 12 am

steve tyler will deffinatly be at download, him and download have both confirmed this already and as im aware they havnt brought any new stuff out of late and all the band confirmed was that steve tyler initially wanted to take a break after hurting himself but hes ready to come back now, rage against the machine were more than good enough to headline leeds/reading 2 years ago so why not download? plus it makes sense to do a couple of paid gigs whilst over here, lets not forget this free gig they are doing holds 45,000 people and how many bought the single at christmas? demand for them is so high right now so download has done some excellent business in them. them two headliners would get any persons mouth watering and the reason to wait till 12 for the other bands might be because they have some incredible other bands lined up but wanted two doses of it to get word out of download even further?

Couldn't wish for a better lineup. You couldn't make better headliners if you tried amazing! just when you thought it couldn't get better
